COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING DASATINIB FOR TREATING COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME
Oral dosage forms of osteoclast inhibitors, including some Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors, such as dasatinib can be used to treat or alleviate pain or related conditions, such as complex regional pain syndrome.
1 . A method of treating complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), comprising orally administering an effective amount of dasatinib to a mammal in need thereof.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the mammal is a human being.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dasatinib is dasatinib monohydrate.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein about 20 mg to about 200 mg of dasatinib is orally administered daily.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein about 100 mg of dasatinib is orally administered daily.
6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein about 100 mg to about 150 mg of dasatinib is orally administered daily.
7 . The method a claim 2 , wherein about 150 mg to about 200 mg of dasatinib is orally administered daily.
8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered at a dose of about 100 to about 150 mg once daily or about 50 mg to about 70 mg twice daily.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered in a capsule, pill, tablet, or troche.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the tablet is a film-coated tablet.
11 . The method of 9 , each tablet contains about 20 mg, about 50 mg, about 70 mg, about 80 mg, about 100 mg, about 100 mg to about 150 mg, or about 150 mg to about 200 mg of dasatinib.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered daily over a period of about 1 week to about 24 months.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered once daily.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered daily for at least about 6 months.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered once daily.
16 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the dasatinib is orally administered over a period of 12 months.
17 . The method of claim 9 , the tablet contains an excipient.
18 . The method of claim 18 , the excipient is lactose.
19 . The method of claim 2 , wherein three divided doses totaling about 300 mg to about 500 mg of dasatinib are orally administered daily.
20 . The method of claim 2 , wherein four divided doses totaling at least about 500 mg to about 600 mg of dasatinib are orally administered daily.
21 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the human being experiences less pain within 3 months after oral administration of dasatinib.
22 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the CRPS affects an arm.
23 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the CRPS affects a leg.
24 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the CRPS affects a foot.
25 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the CRPS affects a hand.
26 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the patient is at least about 18 years old.
27 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the mammal has had CRPS for at least one month.
28 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the CRPS is Type I.
29 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the CRPS is Type 2.
30 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the human being does not drink grapefruit juice during treatment with the dasatinib.
