Abstract

A wireless device, method, and signal for use in communication of a wireless packet between transmitting device and a wireless receiving device via a plurality of antennas, wherein a signal generator generates wireless packet including a short-preamble sequence used for a first automatic gain control (AGC), a first long-preamble sequence, a signal field used for conveying a length of the wireless packet, an AGC preamble sequence used for a second AGC to be performed after the first AGC, a second long-preamble sequence, and a data field conveying data. The AGC preamble sequence is transmitted in parallel by the plurality of antennas.

Claims (148)

1. A wireless communication device for communicating with a second wireless communication device by using a first wireless packet, the wireless communication device comprising:

a first signal generator configured to generate a signal of the first wireless packet, the first wireless packet including:

a short-preamble used for a first automatic gain control (1st AGC) at the second wireless communication device,

a first long-preamble used for a first estimation of a first channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device,

a first signal field following the first long-preamble, and used for conveying first information regarding the first wireless packet,

a second signal field following the first signal field, and used for conveying second information regarding the first wireless packet,

an AGC preamble following the second signal field, and used for a second automatic gain control (2nd AGC) performed after the first automatic gain control at the second wireless communication device,

a second long-preamble used for a second estimation of a second channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device, and

a data field conveying data,

wherein

the AGC preamble is to be transmitted via at least a first antenna and a second antenna, and

a signal of the AGC preamble to be transmitted via the first antenna is substantially same as a signal obtained by performing a cyclic shift in time domain on a signal of the AGC preamble to be transmitted via the second antenna.

2. The wireless communication device according to claim 1 , wherein

signal of the data field is to be transmitted via at least the first and second antennas.

3. The wireless communication device according to claim 1 , wherein

a signal of the data field is to be transmitted via at least the first and second antennas, and

signals of the short-preamble, the first long-preamble, and the first signal field are to be transmitted via at least one of the first and second antennas.

4. The wireless communication device according to claim 1 , wherein

signals of the short-preamble, the first long-preamble, and the first signal field conform to a first standard,

the AGC preamble and the data field conform to IEEE802.11n, and

IEE802.11n standard has backwards compatibility with the first standard.

5. The wireless communication device according to claim 1 , wherein the second signal field is used for identifying whether the first wireless packet conforms to IEEE802.11n or not.

6. The wireless communication device according to claim 5 , wherein

the first signal field includes a Length field,

the first signal field conforms to a first standard,

the second signal field conforms to IEEE802.11n, and

the IEEE802.11n has backwards compatibility with the first standard.

7. The wireless communication device according to claim 1 , wherein

a signal of the second long-preamble is to be transmitted via at least the first and second antennas, and

a signal of the second long-preamble to be transmitted via the first antenna and a signal of the second long-preamble to be transmitted via the second antenna are orthogonalized by using a sequence.

8. The wireless communication device according to claim 1 , wherein

the first wireless packet is to be transmitted based on a first communication scheme via at least the first antenna and the second antenna,

the first signal generator or a second signal generator is configured to generate a signal for transmitting a second wireless packet based on a second communication scheme via at least the first antenna, and

wherein the first antenna is shared by transmissions of the first wireless packet and the second wireless packet.

9. A wireless communication terminal comprising:

the wireless communication device according to claim 1 ;

the first antenna; and

the second antenna,

wherein the wireless communication terminal transmits the signal generated by the first signal generator by using at least the first antenna and the second antenna.

10. The wireless communication terminal according to claim 9 , wherein

the first wireless packet is to be transmitted based on a first communication scheme by using at least the first antenna and the second antenna,

the first signal generator or a second signal generator is configured to generate a signal for transmitting a second wireless packet based on a second communication scheme by using at least the first antenna, and

wherein the first antenna is shared by transmissions of the first wireless packet and the second wireless packet.

11. A wireless communication device for communicating with a second wireless communication device with a first wireless packet, the wireless communication device comprising:

a receiver configured to receive the first wireless packet, the first wireless packet including:

a short-preamble used for a first automatic gain control (1st AGC) at the wireless communication device,

a first long-preamble used for a first estimation of a first channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device,

a first signal field following the first long-preamble, and used for conveying first information regarding the first wireless packet,

a second signal field following the first signal field, and used for conveying second information regarding the first wireless packet,

an AGC preamble following the second signal field, and used for a second automatic gain control (2nd AGC) performed after the first automatic gain control at the wireless communication device,

a second long-preamble used for a second estimation of a second channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device, and

a data field conveying data; and

a gain controller configured to control a first gain based upon receiving the AGC preamble,

wherein

the AGC preamble are transmitted in parallel via at least a first antenna and a second antenna, and

a signal of the AGC preamble transmitted via the first antenna is substantially same as a signal obtained by performing a cyclic shift in time domain on a signal of the AGC preamble transmitted via the second antenna.

12. The wireless communication device according to claim 11 , further comprising an amplifier configured to amplify a signal of the first wireless packet according to the first gain.

13. The wireless communication device according to claim 12 , further comprising an analog-to-digital converter configured to convert a signal output from the amplifier into a digital signal.

14. The wireless communication device according to claim 13 , further comprising circuitry configured to:

estimate the first channel response and the second channel response using the first long-preamble and the second long-preamble; and

demodulate the digital signal, in accordance with at least the estimated second channel response.

15. The wireless communication device according to claim 11 , wherein the second signal field is used for identifying whether the first wireless packet conforms to IEEE802.11n or not.

16. The wireless communication device according to claim 11 , wherein

the first signal field includes a Length field,

the first signal field conforms to a first standard,

the second signal field conforms to IEEE802.11n, IEEE802.11n having backwards compatibility with the first standard.

17. The wireless communication device according to claim 11 , wherein

a signal of the second long-preamble is transmitted via at least the first and second antennas, and

a signal of the second long-preamble transmitted via the first antenna and a signal of the second long-preamble transmitted via the second antenna are orthogonalized by using a sequence.

18. The wireless communication device according to claim 11 , wherein

the gain controller configured to:

control a second gain based upon receiving the short preamble, and

control the first gain by using the second gain stored in a memory.

19. A wireless receiving terminal comprising:

the wireless communication device according to claim 11 ; and

at least one receive antenna,

wherein the wireless communication terminal receives a signal of the first wireless packet by using the at least one receive antenna.

20. A wireless communication method for using a wireless communication device for communicating with a second wireless communication device by using a first wireless packet, the wireless communication method comprising:

generating a signal of the first wireless packet, the first wireless packet including:

a short-preamble used for a first automatic gain control (1st AGC) at the second wireless communication device,

a first long-preamble used for a first estimation of a first channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device,

a first signal field following the first long-preamble, and used for conveying first information regarding the first wireless packet,

a second signal field following the first signal field, and used for conveying second information regarding the first wireless packet,

an AGC preamble following the second signal field, and used for a second automatic gain control (2nd AGC) performed after the first automatic gain control at the second wireless communication device,

a second long-preamble used for a second estimation of a second channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device, and

a data field conveying data,

wherein

the AGC preamble is to be transmitted via at least a first antenna and a second antenna, and

a signal of the AGC preamble to be transmitted via the first antenna is substantially same as a signal obtained by performing a cyclic shift in time domain on a signal of the AGC preamble to be transmitted via the second antenna.

21. The wireless communication method according to claim 20 , wherein

a signal of the data field is to be transmitted via at least the first and second antennas.

22. The wireless communication method according to claim 20 , wherein

a signal of the data field is to be transmitted via at least the first and second antennas, and

signals of the short-preamble, the first long-preamble, and the first signal field are to be transmitted via at least one of the first and second antennas.

23. The wireless communication method according to claim 20 , wherein

signals of the short-preamble, the first long-preamble, and the first signal field conform to a first standard,

the AGC preamble and the data field conform to IEEE802.11n, and

IEE802.11n standard has backwards compatibility with the first standard.

24. The wireless communication method according to claim 20 , wherein

the second signal field is used for identifying whether the first wireless packet conforms to IEEE802.11n or not.

25. The wireless communication method according to claim 24 , wherein

the first signal field includes a Length field,

the first signal field conforms to a first standard,

the second signal field conforms to IEEE802.11n, and

the IEEE802.11n has backwards compatibility with the first standard.

26. The wireless communication method according to claim 20 , wherein

a signal of the second long-preamble is to be transmitted via at least the first and second antennas, and

a signal of the second long-preamble to be transmitted via the first antenna and a signal of the second long-preamble to be transmitted via the second antenna are orthogonalized by using a sequence.

27. The wireless communication method according to claim 20 , wherein

the first wireless packet is to be transmitted based on a first communication scheme via at least the first antenna and the second antenna,

the first signal generator or a second signal generator is configured to generate a signal for transmitting a second wireless packet based on a second communication scheme via at least the first antenna, and

wherein the first antenna is shared by transmissions of the first wireless packet and the second wireless packet.

28. A wireless communication method according to claim 20 ,

wherein the signal of the first wireless packet is transmitted by using at least the first antenna and the second antenna.

29. The wireless communication method according to claim 28 , wherein

the first wireless packet is to be transmitted based on a first communication scheme by using at least the first antenna and the second antenna,

the first signal generator or a second signal generator is configured to generate a signal for transmitting a second wireless packet based on a second communication scheme by using at least the first antenna, and

wherein the first antenna is shared by transmissions of the first wireless packet and the second wireless packet.

30. A wireless communication method for using a wireless communication device for communicating with a second wireless communication device with a first wireless packet, the wireless communication method comprising:

receiving the first wireless packet, the first wireless packet including:

a short-preamble used for a first automatic gain control (1st AGC) at the wireless communication device,

a first long-preamble used for a first estimation of a first channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device,

a first signal field following the first long-preamble, and used for conveying first information regarding the first wireless packet,

a second signal field following the first signal field, and used for conveying second information regarding the first wireless packet,

an AGC preamble following the second signal field, and used for a second automatic gain control (2nd AGC) performed after the first automatic gain control at the wireless communication device,

a second long-preamble used for a second estimation of a second channel response between the wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device, and

a data field conveying data; and

controlling a first gain based upon receiving the AGC preamble,

wherein

the AGC preamble are transmitted in parallel via at least a first antenna and a second antenna, and

a signal of the AGC preamble transmitted via the first antenna is substantially same as a signal obtained by performing a cyclic shift in time domain on a signal of the AGC preamble transmitted via the second antenna.

31. The wireless communication method according to claim 30 , further comprising amplifying a signal of the first wireless packet according to the first gain.

32. The wireless communication method according to claim 31 , further converting an amplified signal of the first wireless packet.

33. The wireless communication method according to claim 32 , further comprising:

estimating the first channel response and the second channel response using the first long-preamble and the second long-preamble; and

demodulating the digital signal, in accordance with at least the estimated second channel response.

34. The wireless communication method according to claim 30 , wherein the second signal field is used for identifying whether the first wireless packet conforms to IEEE802.11n or not.

35. The wireless communication method according to claim 30 , wherein

the first signal field includes a Length field,

the second signal field conforms to IEEE802.11n, IEEE802.11n having backwards compatibility with the first standard.

36. The wireless communication method according to claim 30 , wherein

a signal of the second long-preamble is transmitted via at least the first and second antennas, and

a signal of the second long-preamble transmitted via the first antenna and a signal of the second long-preamble transmitted via the second antenna are orthogonalized by using a sequence.

37. The wireless communication method according to claim 30 , further comprising:

controlling a second gain based upon receiving the short preamble, and

controlling the first gain by using the second gain stored in a memory.

38. A wireless receiving method according to claim 30 ;

wherein a signal of the first wireless packet is received by using at least one receive antenna.
