Expandable implantable conduit
Implantable devices including conduits that have markings along the length of the conduit are described herein.
1. An implantable device comprising:
a plastically deformable conduit;
wherein the plastically deformable conduit is composed of a continuous sheet of biocompatible polymer;
wherein the plastically deformable conduit has an outer surface and a length;
wherein the plastically deformable conduit has a plurality of dashed radiopaque circumferential markings on the outer surface, the plurality of dashed radiopaque circumferential markings spaced along the length; and
wherein the plastically deformable conduit has a plurality of dashed radiopaque longitudinal markings on the outer surface, the plurality of dashed radiopaque longitudinal markings spaced along the length;
wherein the plastically deformable conduit is configured to be expanded from a pre-expansion state having a pre-expansion inner diameter to a post-expansion state having a post-expansion inner diameter;
wherein the plurality of dashed radiopaque circumferential markings and the plurality of dashed radiopaque longitudinal markings are configured to remain intact in the pre-expansion state and the post-expansion state; and
wherein the plastically deformable conduit has an internodal distance of about 10 microns to about 60 microns.
2. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of dashed radiopaque circumferential markings are visible.
3. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of dashed radiopaque longitudinal markings are not circumferential markings.
4. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of dashed radiopaque longitudinal markings are visible.
5. The implantable device of claim 1 , further comprising one or more letters, numbers, or combinations thereof.
6. The implantable device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more letters, numbers, or combinations thereof are each individually radiopaque.
7. The implantable device of claim 6 , wherein the pre-expansion inner diameter is ascertainable in the post-expansion state.
8. The implantable device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more letters, numbers, or combinations thereof are visible.
9. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plastically deformable conduit consists of fluoropolymer.
10. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plastically deformable conduit has a yield strength of about 0.1 MPa to about 4 MPa.
11. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plastically deformable conduit further comprises a valve.
12. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the plastically deformable conduit comprises a first layer and at least a second layer.
13. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein each dashed radiopaque circumferential marking comprises a plurality of individual dashes, and wherein each individual dash has a length that is less than about 1 mm.
14. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the pre-expansion inner diameter is in a range from about 2 mm to less than about 20 mm.
15. The implantable device of claim 1 , wherein the implantable device is configured to be expanded from the pre-expansion state to the post-expansion state using a balloon catheter.
