JUICER CARTRIDGE WITH SANITARY SEAL
Embodiments related to juicing systems including juicers for extracting juice from food matter contained within juicer cartridges are described.
1 . A juicer cartridge comprising:
a liquid impermeable compartment containing food matter;
an outlet associated with the liquid impermeable compartment;
a first burstable seal blocking flow through the outlet; and
a second burstable seal blocking flow through the outlet and located downstream from the first burstable seal.
2 . The juicer cartridge of claim 1 , wherein a bursting pressure of the first burstable seal is greater than a bursting pressure of the second burstable seal.
3 . The juicer cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the second seal is located at an external edge of the outlet.
4 . The juicer cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the second seal is spaced between 3 mm and 5 mm from an external edge of the outlet.
5 . The juicer cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the first burstable seal and the second burstable seal are formed by opposing sides of the liquid impermeable compartment bonded together.
6 . The juicer cartridge of claim 5 , wherein the bond is formed with a thermally activated adhesive.
7 . A method comprising:
pressing a juicer cartridge including a liquid impermeable compartment containing food matter and an outlet associated with the liquid impermeable compartment;
bursting a first seal blocking flow from through the outlet; and
bursting a second seal blocking from through the outlet, wherein the second seal is located downstream from the first burstable seal.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein pressing the juicer cartridge includes applying a pressure to the liquid impermeable compartment that is greater than a threshold pressure for both the first burstable seal and the second burstable seal.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the second seal is located at an external edge of the outlet.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the second seal is spaced between 3 mm and 5 mm from an external edge of the outlet.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein bursting the first burstable seal and the second burstable seal includes peeling apart opposing sides of the liquid impermeable compartment that are bonded together.
