Abstract

A printing apparatus includes a printer, a first wireless communicator, and a second wireless communicator. The first wireless communicator performs wireless local-area network (LAN) communication. The second wireless communicator transmits, to the information terminal, information required to perform the wireless LAN communication between the printing apparatus and an information terminal. The first wireless communicator receives print data from the information terminal. The printer performs printing based on the print data.

Claims (26)

1. A printing apparatus comprising:

a printer;

a first wireless communicator that performs wireless local-area network (LAN) communication; and

a second wireless communicator that transmits, to an information terminal, identification information required to start the wireless LAN communication between the printing apparatus and the information terminal,

wherein the first wireless communicator receives print data from the information terminal using the wireless LAN communication based on the identification information and the printer performs printing based on the print data.

2. A printing apparatus comprising:

a printer;

a first wireless communicator that performs wireless LAN communication;

a second wireless communicator that acquires identification information from an information terminal; and

a controller that determines whether to change a status of the printing apparatus to a login status based on the acquired identification information,

wherein, in a case where the controller determines to change the status of the printing apparatus to the login status, the controller changes the status of the printing apparatus to the login status and the second wireless communicator transmits, to the information terminal, information required to start the wireless LAN communication between the printing apparatus and the information terminal,

wherein the first wireless communicator receives print data from the information terminal and the printer performs printing based on the print data.

3. The printing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the identification information is a user identification (ID).

4. The printing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the controller determines to change the status of the printing apparatus to the login status in a case where the user ID is a valid ID.

5. A control method for a printing apparatus having a printer and a first wireless communicator that performs wireless local-area network (LAN) communication, the control method comprising:

transmitting, to an information terminal, identification information required to start the wireless LAN communication between the printing apparatus and the information terminal;

receiving, by the first wireless communicator, print data from the information terminal using the wireless LAN communication based on the identification information; and

performing, by the printer, printing based on the print data.

6. A control method for a printing apparatus having a printer and a first wireless communicator that performs wireless LAN communication, the control method comprising:

acquiring identification information from an information terminal;

determining whether to change a status of the printing apparatus to a login status based on the acquired identification information,

wherein, in a case where it is determined to change the status of the printing apparatus to the login status, determining includes changing the status of the printing apparatus to the login status and transmitting, to the information terminal, information required to start the wireless LAN communication between the printing apparatus and the information terminal;

receiving, by the first wireless communicator, print data from the information terminal; and

performing, by the printer, printing based on the print data.

7. The control method according to claim 6 , wherein the identification information is a user identification (ID).

8. The control method according to claim 7 , wherein determining includes determining to change the status of the printing apparatus to the login status in a case where the user ID is a valid ID.
