Abstract

A display device is disclosed. The display device includes a display panel including a front substrate and a back substrate, a guide panel positioned at an edge of a back surface of the display panel, a frame positioned in the rear of the display panel and connected to the guide panel, and a back cover positioned in the rear of the frame and inserted into the frame in a sliding manner.

Claims (47)

1. A display device comprising:

a display panel including a front surface and a rear surface;

a guide panel positioned adjacent to an edge of the display panel and extending along at least one side of the display panel, the guide panel having a base facing a part of the rear surface of the display panel, a side wall extending away from the base in at least one of a first direction or a second direction, an inner wall extending away from the base in the first direction and being apart from the side wall, and a first space formed between the inner wall and the side wall and provided behind the display panel;

a frame being coupled to the guide panel; and

a light source provided between the display panel and the frame,

wherein the part of the rear surface of the display panel is fixed to the base of the guide panel, and an end of the frame is positioned adjacent to the first space,

wherein the side wall further includes a forward part extending away from the base in a second direction and a rear part extending away from the base in the first direction, the first and second directions being opposite directions,

wherein the forward part of the side wall covers the side of the display panel, and

wherein the side of the display panel is apart from the forward part of the side wall.

2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a channel formed by the base, the inner wall and the side wall provides the first space between the inner wall and the side wall.

3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the display device further includes an adhesive member attached on the base, and the display panel is attached to the adhesive member.

4. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the base of the guide panel further includes a second space on a front surface of the base, and the adhesive member is provided on the second space of the base.

5. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a third space is formed between the side of the display panel and the forward part of the side wall.

6. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a length of the rear part of the side wall in the first direction is longer than a length of the forward part of the side wall in the second direction.

7. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a length of the rear part of the side wall in the first direction is longer than a length of the inner wall in the first direction.

8. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a distance between an end of the rear part of the side wall and an end of the inner wall is longer than a length of the forward part of the side wall.

9. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the guide panel includes a convex portion at a back side of the base of the guide panel.

10. The display device of claim 9 , wherein the adhesive layer is provided between the convex portion and the inner wall.

11. The display device of claim 5 , wherein a width of the first space is different from a width of the third space.

12. The display device of claim 11 , wherein the width of the first space is greater than the width of the third space.

13. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a part of an optical layer or a light guide plate is provided between the base of the guide panel and the frame.

14. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a first part of the frame is in contact with the inner wall and a second part of the frame is in contact with the side wall.

15. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the end of the frame is parallel to the side wall or the inner wall.

16. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a front edge of the front surface of the display panel is exposed.

17. The display device of claim 1 , further including a back cover provided at a rear of the frame and slid into the frame such that the frame is positioned between the display panel and the back cover,

wherein the back cover includes a first side area, a second side area, a third side area, and a fourth side area, and

wherein a first protrusion extends toward the second side area opposite the first side area at an end of the first side area, a second protrusion extends toward the first side area at an end of the second side area, and a third protrusion extends toward the fourth side area, which is adjacent to the first and second side areas and is opposite to the third side area, at an end of the third side area adjacent to the first and second side areas.

18. The display device of claim 17 , wherein the frame includes:

a first connector corresponding to the first protrusion;

a second connector corresponding to the second protrusion; and

a third connector corresponding to the third protrusion.

19. The display device of claim 18 , wherein the first protrusion includes a first main protrusion extending toward the second side area at the end of the first side area and a first auxiliary protrusion extending perpendicular from the first main protrusion, and

wherein the second protrusion includes a second main protrusion extending toward the first side area at the end of the second side area and a second auxiliary protrusion extending perpendicular from the second main protrusion.

20. The display device of claim 19 , wherein a length of the first auxiliary protrusion is longer than a length of the first main protrusion, and

wherein a length of the second auxiliary protrusion is longer than a length of the second main protrusion.

21. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the guide panel comprises a rigid material.

22. A display device comprising:

a display panel including a front surface and a rear surface;

a guide panel positioned adjacent to an edge of the display panel and extending along a side of the display panel, includes a base facing a part of the rear surface of the display panel and a side wall that extends away from the base in a first direction and a second direction, the first direction being opposite the second direction;

a frame being coupled to the guide panel;

a light source provided between the display panel and the frame, and

an adhesive member provided on the base,

wherein the part of the rear surface of the display panel is attached to the adhesive member,

wherein a front edge at the front surface of the display panel is exposed, and

wherein the base of the guide panel further includes a groove on a front surface of the base, and the adhesive member is provided on the groove of the base.

23. The display device of claim 22 , wherein the side wall further includes a forward part extending away from the base in the second direction and a rear part extending away from the base in the first direction,

wherein the forward part of the side wall covers the side of the display panel.
