Abstract

Provided are a device and a method which are capable of performing selection acquisition and utilization processes for a service worker (SW) that performs data management optimized for each reception device. It is possible to selectively acquire a service worker (SW) of a specific class from service workers (SWs) corresponding to a plurality of classes which are data management programs used in a reception device and have different data management types. For example, use of a service worker (SW) corresponding to a class selected according to an application use state in a reception device is implemented. A reception device acquires access information of a service worker (SW) of a specific class using signaling data in which a token used for efficiently searching for the access information of the service worker (SW) of the specific class is recorded, and acquires the service worker (SW).

Claims (57)

1. A reception device, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

acquire an application via a broadcast communication or a broadband communication,

acquire, via the broadcast communication or the broadband communication, access information of a service worker (SW) from signaling data which is metadata transmitted from a transmission device,

acquire, via the broadcast communication or the broadband communication using the acquired access information, the SW that includes data management programs used in the reception device and has data management types,

utilize the SW for managing the application based on a client environment attribute, and

output an image generated based on the management of the application with the SW.

2. The reception device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the client environment attribute includes at least one of user preference information, a runtime environment restriction, or a local network load.

3. The reception device according to claim 2 ,

wherein the client environment attribute includes the user preference information at the reception device.

4. The reception device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the SW includes an application or a data file of at least one of an image and a sound as management target data.

5. The reception device according to claim 1 ,

wherein a token serving as auxiliary search information for efficiently searching for the access information of the SW is recorded in the signaling data, and

the circuitry is configured to perform an access information search process using the token.

6. The reception device according to claim 5 ,

wherein the token is a SW search scope token configured to limit a search scope of the access information of the SW.

7. The reception device according to claim 5 ,

wherein the signaling data includes:

(a) a service layer in which attribute information of a service or content to be presented to a user is described,

(b) a file transfer session layer in which a file transfer parameter is described, and

(c) a FLUTE (ROUTE) parameter layer in which a parameter corresponding to a FLUTE (ROUTE) protocol is described.

8. The reception device according to claim 7 ,

wherein the token is recorded in at least one of the layers (a) to (c), and

wherein the circuitry is configured to acquire the token recorded in the service layer, the file transfer session layer, or the FLUTE (ROUTE) parameter layer.

9. The reception device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the application executed in the circuitry of the reception device transmits a token information setting request for detecting a token for middleware that processes reception data, and

the middleware performs token detection on the basis of token information set according to a token information setting request.

10. The reception device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the SW executed in the circuitry of the reception device transmits a token information setting request for detecting a token for middleware that processes reception data, and

the middleware performs token detection on the basis of the token information set according to the token information setting request.

11. A transmission device, comprising:

circuitry configured to

transmit an application via broadcast communication,

transmit, via the broadcast communication or a broadband communication, access information of a service worker (SW) in signaling data which is metadata,

transmit via the broadcast communication or the broadband communication, the SW that includes a data management program used in a reception device and has a data management type,

wherein the SW is acquired by the reception device using the transmitted access information and used in the reception device for managing the application based on a client environment attribute, and

wherein an image, generated in the reception device based on the management of the application with the SW, is output.

12. The transmission device according to claim 11 ,

wherein the client environment attribute includes at least one of user preference information, a runtime environment restriction, or a local network load.

13. The transmission device according to claim 12 ,

wherein the client environment attribute includes user preference information at the reception device.

14. A data processing method performed in a reception device, comprising:

acquiring, by circuitry of the reception device, an application via broadcast communication or broadband communication,

acquiring, via the broadcast communication or the broadband communication, access information of a service worker (SW) from signaling data which is metadata transmitted from a transmission device,

acquiring, by the circuitry of the reception device via the broadcast communication or the broadband communication using the acquired access information, the SW that includes a data management program used in the reception device and has a data management type based on a client environment attribute, and

utilizing, by the circuitry of the reception device, the SW for managing the application based on the client environment attribute, and

outputting an image generated, by the circuitry of the reception device, based on the management of the application with the SW.

15. A data processing method performed in a transmission device, comprising:

transmitting, via broadcast communication or broadband communication, access information of a service worker (SW) in signaling data which is metadata,

transmitting, via a broadband communication or a broadcast communication, the SWUM that includes a data management program used in a reception device and has a data management type,

wherein the SW is acquired by the reception device using the transmitted access information and used in the reception device for managing the application based on a client environment attribute, and

wherein an image, generated in the reception device based on the management of the application with the SW, is output.

16. The reception device according to claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is configured to acquire the service worker (SW) via broadcast communication.

17. The data processing method according to claim 14 , wherein the client environment attribute includes at least one of user preference information, a runtime environment restriction, and a local network load.

18. The data processing method according to claim 15 , wherein the client environment attribute includes at least one of user preference information, a runtime environment restriction, and a local network load.
