Abstract

An electric device includes: a positive electrode having at least two positive electrode active materials capable of insertion and desorption of lithium ions, at least one contains a lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure containing nickel; and an electrolyte which contains a compound having an S═O bond in a molecule, in which a content ratio of the lithium transition metal composite oxide is more than 50% by mass with respect to the total mass of the positive electrode active materials, a content of nickel contained in transition metal atoms other than lithium is 30 to 90% by atom in terms of composition ratio with respect to the total amount of the transition metal atoms other than lithium, and a c-axis length of the crystal structure of the lithium transition metal composite oxide is 14.180 Å or more and 14.240 Å or less.

Claims (16)

1 . An electric device comprising:

a positive electrode which comprises a positive electrode active material layer that comprises a lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure containing nickel and a lithium transition metal composite oxide of a spinel crystal structure containing manganese as positive electrode active materials; and

an electrolyte which comprises a compound having an S═O bond in a molecule, wherein

a content ratio of the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure in the positive electrode active material layer is in a range of more than 50% by mass with respect to the total mass of the positive electrode active materials,

a content ratio of nickel contained in transition metal atoms other than lithium of the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure is in a range of 30 to 90% by atom in terms of composition ratio with respect to the total amount of the transition metal atoms other than lithium, and a c-axis length of the crystal structure of the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure is in a range of 14.180 to 14.240 Å, and

a value of ratio of a battery area (a projection area of a battery including a battery outer casing body) to a rated capacity is 5 cm 2 /Ah or more, and the rated capacity is 3 Ah or more.

The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein a content ratio of the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure in the positive electrode active material layer is in a range of 70 to 90% by mass with respect to the total mass of the positive electrode active materials.

The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein a content ratio of nickel contained in transition metal elements other than lithium of the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure is in a range of 45 to 54% by atom in terms of composition ratio with respect to the total amount of the transition metal elements other than lithium.

4 . The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein the c-axis length of the crystal structure in the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure is in a range of 14.220 to 14.240 Å.

5 . The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein the compound having an S═O bond in a molecule comprises a cyclic sulfonate ester.

6 . The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein the compound having an S═O bond in a molecule is 1,3-propane sultone.

7 . The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein the electrolyte further comprises a cyclic carbonate ester derivative.

8 . The electric device according to claim 1 , wherein the lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure is a lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered crystal structure containing nickel, manganese, and cobalt (an NMC composite oxide).

The electric device according to claim 8 , wherein the NMC composite oxide has a composition represented by a general formula: Li a Ni b Mn c Co d M x O 2 (provided that, in the formula, a, b, c, d, and x satisfy 0.9≦a≦1.2, 0<b<1, 0<c≦0.5, 0<d≦0.5, 0≦x≦0.3, b+c+d=1; and M is at least one selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Nb, W, P, Al, Mg, V, Ca, Sr, and Cr).

10 . The electric device according to claim 1 , which is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery.

11 . The electric device according to claim 10 , wherein the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is a lithium ion secondary battery.
