Abstract

In order to improve B1 non-homogeneity while reducing a local SAR in an object, particularly, in a human tissue during MR imaging, the present invention is characterized in that each of a plurality of irradiation channels is controlled on the basis of RF shimming parameters corresponding to the plurality of irradiation channels, and, in a case of performing imaging sequence of irradiating an object with an RF magnetic field, there is the use of the RF shimming parameters obtained by imposing a constraint condition on at least one of a plurality of principal components obtained through principal component analysis on the RF shimming parameters.

Claims (24)

1. A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprising:

a control calculation unit that controls each of a plurality of irradiation channels on the basis of RF shimming parameters corresponding to the plurality of irradiation channels, and performs imaging sequence of irradiating an object with an RF magnetic field, wherein the control calculation unit imposes a constraint condition on at least one of a plurality of principal components obtained through principal component analysis on the RF shimming parameters, so as to obtain the RF shimming parameters;

a first database in which the RF shimming parameters for respectively controlling the plurality of irradiation channels are stored; and

a second database in which B1 maps of a plurality of different imaging targets are accumulated,

wherein the control calculation unit

reads a B1 map group from the second database,

performs optimization computation of RF shimming by using each B1 map of the read B1 map group,

extracts principal components whose contribution ratios to a reduction of a local SAR are less than a threshold value from a plurality of principal components corresponding to the number of irradiation channels, obtained by using a parameter group of the obtained optimal RF shimming parameters, and

accumulates RF shimming parameters obtained by constraining the extracted principal components to a set value in the first database in correlation with the plurality of respective imaging targets.

2. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the constraint condition imposed on the RF shimming parameters is accumulated in the first database in correlation with an attribute of the object and an attribute of RF shimming.

3. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 2 ,

wherein the attribute is at least one of the age, the sex, a height, a weight, and an imaging part of the object, and an objective function in RF shimming.

4. A method performed by a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, for setting RF shimming parameters for controlling each of a plurality of irradiation channels irradiating an object with RF magnetic fields,

the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprising:

a control calculation unit that controls each of the plurality of irradiation channels on the basis of the RF shimming parameters corresponding to the plurality of irradiation channels, and performs imaging sequence of irradiating the object with an RF magnetic field;

a first database in which the RF shimming parameters for respectively controlling the plurality of irradiation channels are stored; and

a second database in which B1 maps of a plurality of different imaging targets are accumulated,

the method comprising:

obtaining the RF shimming parameters by imposing a constraint condition on at least one of a plurality of principal components obtained through principal component analysis on the RF shimming parameters, including

reading a B1 map group from the second database,

performing optimization computation of RF shimming by using each B1 map of the read B1 map group,

extracting principal components whose contribution ratios to a reduction of a local SAR are less than a threshold value from a plurality of principal components corresponding to the number of irradiation channels, obtained by using a parameter group of the obtained optimal RF shimming parameters, and

accumulating RF shimming parameters obtained by constraining the extracted principal components to a set value in the first database in correlation with the plurality of respective imaging targets.
