Abstract

Management of devices on a wireless network is described. An assistant device can determine that a device is missing configuration settings to access resources within a connected environment. Characteristics of that device can be determined and configuration settings to a selection of the resources can be provided based on the characteristics.

provide configuration settings to a first selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment to provide that the first device has access to based on the first location of the first device;

determine that a second device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within the wireless network implemented within the environment;

determine second characteristics regarding the second device, the second characteristics indicating a second location of the second device within the environment, the first location and the second location being different; and

provide configuration settings to a second selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the second device has access to based on the second location of the second device, the first selection of resources and the second selection of resources being different.

2. An electronic device, comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions, wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions such that the processor and memory are configured to:

determine that a first device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within a wireless network implemented within an environment;

determine first characteristics regarding the first device, wherein determining characteristics regarding the first device includes generating an image frame depicting the first device using a camera of the electronic device; and

provide configuration settings to a first selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the first device has access to based on the first characteristics of the first device.

3. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions such that the processor and memory are configured to:

determine that a second device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within the wireless network implemented within the environment;

determine second characteristics regarding the second device, the first characteristics and the second characteristics being different; and

provide configuration settings to a second selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the second device has access to based on the second characteristics of the first device, the first selection of resources and the second number of selection being different.

4. The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the first characteristics include a first location of the first device within the environment, the second characteristics include a second location of the second device within the environment, the first location and the second location being different.

5. The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the first characteristics include a first device type of the first device, the second characteristics include a second device type of the second device, the first device type and the second device type being different.

6. The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the first selection includes a first number of devices, the second selection includes a second number of devices, the first number and the second number being different.

7. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions such that the processor and memory are configured to:

determine characteristics regarding usage of the first selection of resources by the first device; and

withdraw configuration settings for one or more of the first selection of resources such that the first device no longer has access to the one or more of the first selection of resources based on the characteristics regarding the usage.

8. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions such that the processor and memory are configured to:

determine that a second device is missing configuration settings to access the first selection of resources;

determine that the second device has a higher priority to access the first selection of resources than the first device; and

withdraw configuration settings for the first selection of resources such that the first device no longer has access to the first selection of resources based on the second device having a higher priority than the first device.

9. A method for managing devices on a wireless network, comprising:

determining, by a processor, that a first device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within a wireless network implemented within an environment;

determining first characteristics regarding the first device;

providing configuration settings to a first selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the first device has access to based on the first characteristics of the first device;

determining characteristics regarding usage of the first selection of resources by the first device; and

withdrawing configuration settings for one or more of the first selection of resources such that the first device no longer has access to the one or more of the first selection of resources based on the characteristics regarding the usage.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

determining that a second device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within the wireless network implemented within the environment;

determining second characteristics regarding the second device, the first characteristics and the second characteristics being different; and

providing configuration settings to a second selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the second device has access to based on the second characteristics of the first device, the first selection of resources and the second number of selection being different.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first characteristics include a first location of the first device within the environment, the second characteristics include a second location of the second device within the environment, the first location and the second location being different.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first characteristics include a first device type of the first device, the second characteristics include a second device type of the second device, the first device type and the second device type being different.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first selection includes a first number of devices, the second selection includes a second number of devices, the first number and the second number being different.

14. The method of claim 9 , wherein determining characteristics regarding the first device includes generating an image frame depicting the first device using a camera of the electronic device.

15. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

determining that a second device is missing configuration settings to access the first selection of resources;

determining that the second device has a higher priority to access the first selection of resources than the first device; and

withdrawing configuration settings for the first selection of resources such that the first device no longer has access to the first selection of resources based on the second device having a higher priority than the first device.

16. A computer program product, comprising one or more non-transitory computer-readable media having computer program instructions stored therein, the computer program instructions being configured such that, when executed by one or more computing devices, the computer program instructions cause the one or more computing devices to:

determine that a first device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within a wireless network implemented within an environment;

determine first characteristics regarding the first device;

provide configuration settings to a first selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the first device has access to based on the first characteristics of the first device;

determine that a second device is missing configuration settings to access the first selection of resources;

determine that the second device has a higher priority to access the first selection of resources than the first device; and

withdraw configuration settings for the first selection of resources such that the first device no longer has access to the first selection of resources based on the second device having a higher priority than the first device.

17. The computer program product of claim 16 , the computer program instructions cause the one or more computing devices to:

determine that a second device is missing configuration settings to access resources connected within the wireless network implemented within the environment;

determine second characteristics regarding the second device, the first characteristics and the second characteristics being different; and

provide configuration settings to a second selection of resources within the wireless network implemented within the environment that the second device has access to based on the second characteristics of the first device, the first selection of resources and the second number of selection being different.
