Systems to fulfill a picked sales order and related methods therefor
Some embodiments include a system. The system can include one or more processors and one or more non-transitory memory storage devices storing computer instructions configured to run on the processor(s) and perform acts including: receiving a request for a picked sales order; promising the good(s) of the picked sales order for receipt by the customer at a receivable clock time; after promising the good(s) of the picked sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time, detecting a delay condition associated with making ready the one or more goods of the picked sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time; and communicating a notification of the delay condition to a receiving party. Other embodiments of related systems and methods are also provided.
1. A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more non-transitory memory storage devices storing computer instructions configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
receiving a request for a sales order, wherein:
the sales order is associated with a customer;
the sales order comprises one or more goods; and
the one or more goods are being offered for sale;
determining an estimated fulfillment time for the sales order by summing a respective estimated fulfillment time interval for each respective good of the one or more goods;
promising the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at a receivable clock time based on the estimated fulfillment time;
after promising the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time, detecting a delay condition associated with making ready a portion of the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time;
in response to detecting the delay condition, waiting a predetermined amount of time comprising a predetermined percentage of an average time for performing the delay condition;
after waiting the predetermined amount of time, communicating a notification of the delay condition to a receiving party;
after waiting the predetermined amount of time, communicating a delay notification to the customer;
receiving a cancel request from the customer for at least the portion of the one or more goods of the sales order; and
after receiving the cancel request, recalculating the estimated fulfillment time for the sales order using the respective estimated fulfillment time interval for each remaining good of the one or more goods and without the at least the portion of the one or more goods.
2. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay in assigning the sales order to a picker; and
the receiving party comprises a manager of the picker.
3. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a picker in beginning to pick the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the picker.
4. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a picker in picking the one or more goods of the sales order after the picker begins picking the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the picker.
5. The system of claim 4 wherein:
the notification of the delay condition comprises a first notification of the delay condition;
the receiving party comprises a first receiving party;
the computer instructions are further configured to perform:
communicating a second notification of the delay condition to a second receiving party;
and
the second receiving party comprises a manager of the picker.
6. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a packer in beginning to pack the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the packer.
7. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a packer in packing the one or more goods of the sales order after the packer begins to pack the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the packer.
8. The system of claim 7 wherein:
the notification of the delay condition comprises a first notification of the delay condition;
the receiving party comprises a first receiving party;
the computer instructions are further configured to perform:
communicating a second notification of the delay condition to a second receiving party;
and
the second receiving party comprises a manager of the packer.
9. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a deliverer in beginning to deliver to the customer the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the deliverer.
10. The system of claim 1 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a deliverer in delivering to the customer the one or more goods of the sales order after the deliverer begins to deliver the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the deliverer.
11. The system of claim 10 wherein:
the notification of the delay condition comprises a first notification of the delay condition;
the receiving party comprises a first receiving party;
the computer instructions are further configured to perform:
communicating a second notification of the delay condition to a second receiving party;
and
the second receiving party comprises a manager of the deliverer.
12. The system of claim 1 wherein:
communicating the notification of the delay condition to the receiving party comprises one of:
communicating by text message the notification of the delay condition to the receiving party; or
communicating the notification of the delay condition to the receiving party at a mobile application.
13. A method implemented via execution of computing instructions configured to run at one or more processors and configured to be stored at non-transitory computer-readable media, the method comprising:
receive a request for a picked sales order, wherein:
the sales order is associated with a customer;
the sales order comprises one or more goods; and
the one or more goods are being offered for sale;
determine an estimated fulfillment time for the sales order by summing a respective estimated fulfillment time interval for each respective good of the one or more goods;
promise the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at a receivable clock time based on the estimated fulfillment time;
after promising the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time, detect a delay condition associated with making ready a portion of the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time;
in response to detecting the delay condition, wait a predetermined amount of time comprising a predetermined percentage of an average time for performing the delay condition;
after waiting the predetermined amount of time, communicate a notification of the delay condition to a receiving party;
after waiting the predetermined amount of time, communicate a delay notification to the customer;
receive a cancel request from the customer for at least the portion of the one or more goods of the sales order; and
after receiving the cancel request, recalculate the estimated fulfillment time for the sales order using the respective estimated fulfillment time interval for each remaining good of the one or more goods and without the at least the portion of the one or more goods.
14. The method of claim 13 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay in assigning the sales order to a picker; and
the receiving party comprises a manager of the picker.
15. The method of claim 13 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a picker in beginning to pick the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the picker.
16. The method of claim 13 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a picker in picking the one or more goods of the sales order after the picker begins picking the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the picker.
17. The method of claim 13 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a packer in packing the one or more goods of the sales order after the packer begins to pack the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the packer.
18. The method of claim 13 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a deliverer in beginning to deliver to the customer the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the deliverer.
19. The method of claim 13 wherein:
the delay condition comprises a delay by a deliverer in delivering to the customer the one or more goods of the sales order after the deliverer begins to deliver the one or more goods of the sales order; and
the receiving party comprises the deliverer.
20. A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more non-transitory memory storage devices storing computer instructions configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
receiving a request for a sales order, wherein:
the sales order is associated with a customer;
the sales order comprises one or more goods; and
the one or more goods are being offered for sale;
promising the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at a receivable clock time;
after promising the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time, detecting a delay condition associated with making ready a portion of the one or more goods of the sales order for receipt by the customer at the receivable clock time;
in response to detecting the delay condition, waiting a predetermined amount of time comprising a predetermined percentage of an average time for performing the delay condition;
after waiting the predetermined amount of time, communicating a first notification of the delay condition to a first receiving party;
after waiting the predetermined amount of time, communicating a second notification of the delay condition to a second receiving party other than the first receiving party;
receiving a cancel request from the customer for at least the portion of the one or more goods of the sales order; and
after receiving the cancel request, recalculating an estimated fulfillment time for the sales order using a respective estimated fulfillment time interval for each remaining good of the one or more goods,
wherein:
the first receiving party comprises a first one of (i) a picker of the one or more goods of the sales order, (ii) a packer of the one or more goods of the sales order, (iii) a deliverer of the one or more goods of the sales order, (iv) an operator of the system, or (v) the customer; and
the second receiving party comprises a second one of (i) the picker of the one or more goods of the sales order, (ii) the packer of the one or more goods of the sales order, (iii) the deliverer of the one or more goods of the sales order, (iv) the operator of the system, or (v) the customer.
