Abstract

Eyewear, according to various embodiments, comprises at least one biometric sensor that is adapted for taking a biometric reading from the wearer when the wearer is operatively wearing the eyewear and for transmitting the results of the biometric reading to one or more computer processors for use in determining whether the wearer is a particular individual. The eyewear may also include a wireless communications device for transmitting a signal (e.g., to a remote computing device) that confirms the identity of the wearer as the particular individual. A remote computing device, or other device, or individual, may then, based at least in part on receiving the signal, grant wearer access to a computer program, computing system, and/or a particular physical space.

Claims (100)

1. A method of providing a particular individual with access to a computer system or computer program, the method comprising:

a. receiving at least one wireless signal from a pair of computerized eyewear, the at least one wireless signal comprising a unique identifier associated with the particular individual;

b. at least partially in response to receiving the at least one wireless signal, comparing the unique identifier with a stored identifier for the particular individual; and

c. at least partially in response to determining that the unique identifier at least partially matches the stored identifier, providing the particular individual with access to the computer system or computer program.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises the step of:

a. transmitting at least one wireless signal to the pair of computerized eyewear requesting an identification signal from the computerized eyewear, wherein the step of receiving the at least one wireless signal from the computerized eyewear is completed after the step of transmitting the at least one wireless signal to the computerized eyewear.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of providing computerized eyewear comprising:

a. one or more processors;

b. one or more sensors operatively coupled to the one or more sensors; and

c. one or more wireless chips operatively coupled to the one or more processors,

wherein the one or more sensors are configured to:

i. generate a signal that confirms the identity of the particular individual; and

ii. the one or more wireless chips are configured to transmit the at least one wireless signal that comprises the unique identifier associated with the particular individual.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the one or more sensors is a biometric sensor that is configured to identify the particular individual by an attribute selected from a group consisting of:

a. the particular individual's finger print;

b. the particular individual's voice;

c. the particular individual's gait;

d. the particular individual's one or more facial characteristics;

e. the particular individual's iris;

f. the particular individual's tear;

g. the particular individual's blood; and

h. the particular individual's DNA.

5. The method of claim 3 , further comprising the steps of:

a. determining a biometric reading of the particular individual from the generated signal;

b. comparing the biometric reading of the particular individual with biometric data that is associated with the particular individual; and

c. at least partially in response to the results of the biometric reading at least partially matching the biometric data associated with the particular individual, generating the unique identifier associated with the particular individual.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein

a. the unique identifier is a passcode associated with the particular individual; and

b. the computer system or computer program is selected from a group consisting of:

i. a secure entry system;

ii. a password protected computing device;

iii. a password protected smart phone;

iv. a password protected alarm system;

v. an electronic payment system; and

vi. an automobile.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of providing the particular individual with access to the computer system or computer program comprises deactivating a home alarm system at least partially based on the unique identifier.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of providing the particular individual with access to the computer system or computer program comprises executing an electronic payment for the particular individual at least partially based on the unique identifier.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of providing the particular individual with access to the computer system or computer program comprises unlocking an automobile associated with the particular individual at least partially based on the unique identifier.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the unique identifier is a passcode.

11. A system for facilitating the correct identity of an individual, said system comprising computerized eyewear comprising:

a. a frame portion that is adapted for supporting at least one lens, the frame portion defining a first lateral side and a second lateral side;

b. a first temple attached adjacent the first lateral side, the first temple being mounted to extend, at least selectively, rearwardly away from the frame portion so that a distal portion of the first temple may engage a first ear of a wearer of the eyewear to at least partially support the eyewear while the eyewear is being worn adjacent the wearer's face;

c. a second temple attached adjacent the second lateral side, the second temple being mounted to extend, at least selectively, rearwardly away from the frame portion so that a distal portion of the second temple may engage a second ear of the wearer to at least partially support the eyewear while the eyewear is being worn adjacent the wearer's face;

d. one or more processors coupled to one of the frame, the first temple or the second temple;

e. one or more sensors operatively coupled to the one or more processors and coupled to at least one of the frame, the first temple or the second temple; and

f. at least one electronic communications device operatively coupled to the one or more processors and adapted to broadcast a wireless signal comprising a unique identifier associated with a particular individual wearing the eyewear,

wherein the wireless signal is configured to be received by a remote computer system that uses the unique identifier to compare to a stored identifier for the particular individual so that the remote computer system can allow the particular individual access to one of the remote computer system, a secure area associated with the remote computer system, or a payment system associated with the remote computer system.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more sensors comprises a sensor for capturing biometric information from the particular individual.

13. The system of claim 12 , wherein:

a. the biometric sensor is configured to capture biometric information from the particular individual, the biometric information selected from a group consisting of;

i. the particular individual's finger print;

ii. the particular individual's voice;

iii. the particular individual's one or more facial characteristics;

iv. the particular individual's iris;

v. the particular individual's tear;

vi. the particular individual's blood; and

vii. the particular individual's DNA; and

b. the one or more processors analyze the captured information from the biometric sensor and generate the unique identifier.

14. The system of claim 12 , wherein:

a. the biometric sensor captures information about the particular individual's gait; and

b. the one or more processors analyze the particular individuals gait information and generate the unique identifier based on the analyzed gait information.

15. The system of claim 11 , further comprising a remote computer system comprising:

a. one or more processors;

b. memory operatively coupled to the one or more processors; and

c. one or more electronic communication devices that is operatively coupled to the one or more processors of the remote computer system,

wherein the remote computer system is configured to:

i. receive the wireless signal from the computerized eyewear containing the unique identifier associated with the particular individual;

ii. at least partially in response to receiving the wireless signal, compare the unique identifier with a stored identifier for the particular individual; and

iii. at least partially in response to determining that the unique identifier at least partially matches the stored identifier, allow the particular individual access to one of the remote computer system, a secure area associated with the remote computer system, or a payment system associated with the remote computer system.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the remote computer system is associated with an automobile and the remote computer system allows the particular individual to access the automobile when the unique identifier at least partially matches the stored identifier.

17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the remote computer system is associated with a smartphone and the remote computer system allows the particular individual access to the smartphone when the unique identifier at least partially matches the stored identifier.

18. A system for facilitating the correct identity of an individual, said system comprising:

a. a computerized temple for use with eyewear, the computerized temple comprising:

i. an elongated body having a first end configured to couple to an eyewear frame and a second end configured to rest on an ear of the wearer;

ii. one or more processors received in the elongated body;

iii. one or more sensors operatively coupled to the one or more processors and received in the elongated body; and

iv. one or more electronic communication devices operatively coupled to the one or more processors, received in the elongated body, and adapted to broadcast a wireless signal comprising a unique identifier associated with a particular individual wearing the eyewear,

wherein the wireless signal is configured to be received by a remote computer system that uses the unique identifier to compare to a stored identifier for the particular individual so that the remote computer system can allow the particular individual access to one of the remote computer system, a secure area associated with the remote computer system, or a payment system associated with the remote computer system.

19. The system of claim 18 , further comprising a remote computer system comprising:

a. one or more processors;

b. memory operatively coupled to the one or more processors; and

c. one or more electronic communication devices that is operatively coupled to the one or more processors of the remote computer system,

wherein the remote computer system is configured to:

i. receive the wireless signal from the computerized eyewear containing the unique identifier associated with the particular individual;

ii. at least partially in response to receiving the wireless signal, compare the unique identifier with a stored identifier for the particular individual; and

iii. at least partially in response to determining that the unique identifier at least partially matches the stored identifier, allow the particular individual access to one of the remote computer system, a secure area associated with the remote computer system, or a payment system associated with the remote computer system.

20. The system of claim 18 , wherein:

a. the one or more sensors are configured to capture biometric information from the particular individual, the biometric information selected from a group consisting of:

i. the particular individual's gait

ii. the particular individual's finger print;

iii. the particular individual's voice;

iv. the particular individual's one or more facial characteristics;

v. the particular individual's iris;

vi. the particular individual's tear;

vii. the particular individual's blood; and

viii. the particular individual's DNA; and

b. the one or more processors are configured to:

i. analyze the particular individual's biometric information and identify the particular individual based on the captured biometric information;

ii. determine the unique identifier for the particular individual once identified; and

iii. generate the wireless single to be broadcasted by the one or more electronic communication devices.
