Abstract

A transmitting method of storing data that configures an application in a predetermined data unit and transmitting the predetermined data unit. The predetermined data unit includes generating time specification information indicating an operation time of the application, based on reference time information received from an external source. The transmitting method includes transmitting (i) the predetermined data unit and (ii) control information indicating the generated time specification information. The control information includes the generated time specification information and identification information indicating whether the time specification information is time information indicating a time that is before a leap second adjustment.

Claims (27)

1. A transmitting method of storing data configuring an application into a predetermined data unit and transmitting the stored data in the predetermined data unit, the transmitting method comprising:

generating time specification information indicating an operation time of the application, based on reference time information received from an external server; and

transmitting to a receiver (i) the predetermined data unit and (ii) control information indicating the time specification information generated,

wherein the reference time information includes first identification information for notifying in advance that a leap second adjustment is to be made by the external server,

the control information includes: 1) the time specification information generated based on the reference time information; and 2) second identification information indicating whether the time specification information is time information indicating a time that is before the leap second adjustment is made by the external server, and

the receiver executes the application stored in the predetermined data unit at the operation time based on the reference time information and control information.

2. The transmitting method according to claim 1 ,

wherein, in the generating, the time specification information of the predetermined data unit is generated by adding a predetermined period of time to the time information.

3. The transmitting method according to claim 1 ,

wherein the identification information indicates whether the time specification information is generated based on the time information indicating a time within a time range from a time preceding, by a predetermined period of time, a time immediately before the leap second adjustment up to the time immediately before the leap second adjustment.

4. The transmitting method according to claim 1 ,

wherein the time specification information is a coordinated universal time (UTC) time and a normal play time (NPT), and

the control information is a UTC-NPT reference descriptor indicating a relationship between the UTC time and the NPT.

5. The transmitting method according to claim 1 ,

wherein the reference time information complies with a network time protocol (NTP).

6. A receiving method of receiving a predetermined data unit in which data configuring an application is stored, the receiving method comprising:

receiving (i) the predetermined data unit, and (ii) control information which includes time specification information indicating an operation time of the application, and second identification information indicating whether the time specification information is time information indicating a time that is before a leap second adjustment is made by an external server, and

executing the application stored in the received predetermined data unit at the operation time indicated by the time specification information, based on the second identification stored in the control information received, the time specification information being based on reference time information that includes first specification information for notifying in advance that the leap second adjustment is to be made by the external server.

7. A transmitting device which stores data configuring an application into a predetermined data unit and transmits the stored data in the predetermined unit, the transmitting device comprising:

a generator which generates time specification information indicating an operation time of the application, based on reference time information received from an external server; and

a transmitter which transmits to a receiver (i) the predetermined data unit and (ii) control information indicating the time specification information generated by the generator,

wherein the reference time information includes first identification information for notifying in advance that a leap second adjustment is to made by the external server,

the control information includes: 1) the time specification information generated based on the reference time information; and 2) second identification information indicating whether the time specification information is time information indicating a time that is before the leap second adjustment is made by the external server, and

the receiver executes the application and reproduces the predetermined data unit at the operation time based on the reference time information and the control information.

8. A receiving device which receives a predetermined data unit in which data configuring an application is stored, the receiving device comprising,

a receiver which receives (i) the predetermined data unit and (ii) control information which includes time specification information indicating an operation time of the application, and second identification information indicating whether the time specification information is time information indicating a time before a leap second adjustment is made by an external server,

wherein the application stored in the predetermined data unit is executed and the predetermined data unit is reproduced, at the operation time indicated by the time specification information, based on the second information stored in control information received by the receiver, the time specification information being based on reference time information that includes first specification information for notifying in advance that the leap second adjustment is to be made by the external server.
