Abstract

A window shade alarm system for gently awakening a user. The window shade is connected to the Internet and opens such that light gradually increases in a room. Thus waking a user less abruptly than a traditional audio alarm. The window shade stores user selected modes and can control wireless enabled lights within a room to simulate the gradual increase of light at sunrise. The alarm system is connected to remote activated devices for the convenience of the user.

14 . A window shade alarm comprising;

a window shade housing;

a processor within the window shade housing;

non-transitory storage medium, within the window housing, storing alarm sequences for opening and closing the window shade;

a motorized shade mechanism within the window shade housing; and

a wireless connection to the internet, within the window shade housing, whereby the window shade alarm is informed of the sunrise time at the geographic location of the window shade.

15 . The window shade alarm of claim 14 , wherein the processor causes the motorized shade mechanism to open the shade at a time at about or after the local sunrise time.

16 . The window shade alarm of claim 15 , wherein the processor causes the motorized shade mechanism to open the shade, and the processor causes a command to be sent to a wireless enabled device causing the device to increase the illumination in the room.

17 . The window shade alarm of claim 16 wherein, the wireless enabled device is a mobile phone

18 . The window shade alarm of claim 16 wherein the wireless enabled device is a light.

19 . The window shade alarm of claim 1 , wherein the wireless enabled device is a security system.

20 . The window shade alarm of claim 1 , wherein the wireless enabled device is activated through a cloud-based network.

21 . The invention of claim 15 , further comprising a speaker.

22 . The invention of claim 21 , wherein the alarm sequence for opening the window shade is accompanied by an audible alarm.

23 . A window shade alarm comprising;

a window shade housing;

a processor;

non-transitory storage medium storing alarm sequences for opening and closing the window shade;

wireless antenna; and

a motorized shade mechanism; in communication with the processor to move the shade to one or more positions at one or more predetermined intervals relative to the alarm sequences,

wherein the processor initiates the alarm sequences instructing the motorized mechanism to move the shade to one or more positions at one or more predetermined intervals relative to the alarm sequences;

wherein the window shade alarm is wirelessly connected to and in communication with one or more remote wireless enabled devices for controlling ambient conditions selected from the group consisting of lighting, heating, auditory, ventilation, and air conditioning.

24 . The invention of claim 23 , wherein the window shade alarm is adapted to communicate with a weather station, to determine whether to augment the alarm of opening the window shade with one of the remote wireless devices.

25 . The invention of claim 24 , further comprising a speaker.

26 . The invention of claim 25 , wherein the alarm sequence for opening the window shade is accompanied by an audible alarm.

27 . The invention of claim 24 , wherein the remote wireless enabled devices further comprise food and beverage fixing appliances.

28 . The invention of claim 24 , wherein the alarm sequence for opening of the window shade is accompanied by transmitting to one of the remote wireless enabled devices the same sequence to augment the waking power of opening the window shade.

29 . The invention of claim 28 , wherein opening the window shade is augmented by increasing the light output.

30 . The invention of claim 30 , wherein the remote wireless enabled device is a light.

31 . The invention of claim 30 , wherein the remote wireless enabled device is a smart phone.

32 . The invention of claim 28 , wherein the opening of the window shade is augmented by a fan.

33 . The invention of claim 28 , wherein the opening of the window shade is augmented by a heater.
