Kit for increasing Th1 cells
The present invention includes vaccine compositions and methods for using these vaccine compositions in active immunotherapy. The vaccine compositions include allogeneic activated Th1 memory cells. The compositions can also include one or more disease-related antigens. The methods include administering the vaccine compositions to provide a Th1 footprint in normal individuals or patients susceptible to disease or having minimal residual disease.
. A kit for an individual against a tumor or a pathogen comprising a priming composition and an activating composition, wherein the priming and the activating composition both comprise allogeneic activated Th1 memory cells from the same source and wherein the priming composition upon administration increases the number of Th1 cells in circulation in a patient.
. The kit of claim 1 wherein the priming composition further comprises one or more tumor- or pathogen-related antigens.
. The kit of claim 1 further comprising one or more booster compositions.
. The kit of claim 3 wherein the booster composition comprises allogeneic activated Th1 memory cells.
. The kit of claim 4 wherein the booster composition further comprises one or more tumor-related antigens.
. The kit of claim 1 wherein the activating composition further comprises one or more tumor- or pathogen-related antigens.
. The kit of claim 1 wherein the Th1 memory cells are activated by the cross-linking of the CD3 and CD28 surface molecules.
. The kit of claim 1 wherein the Th1 memory cells are activated by the cross-linking of the CD3 and CD28 surface molecules at the time of administration to the individual.
