Abstract

A portable dehumidifier includes a plurality of microchannel condenser coils, a fan, and a control panel. The fan is located adjacent to an airflow outlet and is configured to generate an airflow that flows into the portable dehumidifier through an airflow inlet and out of the portable dehumidifier through the airflow outlet. The airflow flows through an evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condenser coils in order to provide dehumidification to the airflow. The control panel includes a status bar that is configured to light up in a plurality of colors to permit an operator to view an operational status of the portable dehumidifier.

Claims (49)

1. A portable dehumidifier, comprising:

two wheels;

a cabinet comprising:

an airflow inlet located on a front side of the cabinet;

an airflow outlet located on a back side of the cabinet that is opposite the front side;

an evaporator located adjacent to the airflow inlet;

a plurality of microchannel condensers comprising a first microchannel condenser and a second microchannel condenser;

a fan located adjacent to the airflow outlet, wherein the portable dehumidifier is configured such that airflow generated by the fan flows into the cabinet through the airflow inlet, through the evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condensers, and out of the cabinet through the airflow outlet;

a control panel configured to receive operational status information of the portable dehumidifier, the control panel comprising a status bar, the status bar configured to light up in a plurality of colors to permit an operator to view an operational status of the portable dehumidifier; and

wherein the control panel further comprises an additional display that is separate from the status bar, the additional display configured to receive and display information about the portable dehumidifier.

2. The portable dehumidifier of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of colors comprises:

a red color to indicate that the portable dehumidifier is not operating normally; and

a green color to indicate that the portable dehumidifier is operating normally.

3. The portable dehumidifier of claim 1 , wherein the control panel is located on a top side of the cabinet adjacent to the airflow outlet.

4. The portable dehumidifier of claim 3 , wherein the control panel is angled with respect to the top side of the cabinet.

5. The portable dehumidifier of claim 1 , wherein the control panel comprises a four-line backlit LED display.

6. The portable dehumidifier of claim 1 , wherein the control panel is configured to receive and display the following on a home screen of the display:

a temperature and humidity of the airflow as the airflow enters the portable dehumidifier; and

a temperature and humidity of the airflow as the airflow exits the portable dehumidifier.

7. A portable dehumidifier, comprising:

a cabinet comprising:

an airflow inlet;

an airflow outlet;

a plurality of microchannel condensers comprising a first microchannel condenser and a second microchannel condenser;

a fan located adjacent to the airflow outlet, wherein the portable dehumidifier is configured such that airflow generated by the fan flows into the cabinet through the airflow inlet, through the evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condensers, and out of the cabinet through the airflow outlet;

a control panel configured to receive operational status information of the portable dehumidifier, the control panel comprising a status bar, the status bar configured to light up in a plurality of colors to permit an operator to view an operational status of the portable dehumidifier, and

wherein the control panel further comprises an additional display that is separate from the status bar, the additional display configured to receive and display information about the portable dehumidifier.

8. The portable dehumidifier of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of colors comprises:

a red color to indicate that the portable dehumidifier is not operating normally; and

a green color to indicate that the portable dehumidifier is operating normally.

9. The portable dehumidifier of claim 7 , wherein the control panel is located on a top side of the cabinet adjacent to the airflow outlet.

10. The portable dehumidifier of claim 9 , wherein the control panel is angled with respect to the top side of the cabinet.

11. The portable dehumidifier of claim 7 , wherein the control panel comprises a four-line backlit LED display.

12. The portable dehumidifier of claim 7 , wherein the control panel is configured to receive and display the following on a home screen of the display:

a temperature and humidity of the airflow as the airflow enters the portable dehumidifier; and

a temperature and humidity of the airflow as the airflow exits the portable dehumidifier.

13. A portable dehumidifier, comprising:

a plurality of microchannel condensers comprising a first microchannel condenser and a second microchannel condenser;

a fan located adjacent to an airflow outlet, wherein the portable dehumidifier is configured such that airflow generated by the fan flows into the portable dehumidifier through an airflow inlet, through the evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condensers, and out of the portable dehumidifier through the airflow outlet;

a control panel configured to receive operational status information of the portable dehumidifier, the control panel comprising a status bar, the status bar configured to light up in a plurality of colors to permit an operator to view an operational status of the portable dehumidifier; and

wherein the control panel further comprises an additional display that is separate from the status bar, the additional display configured to receive and display information about the portable dehumidifier.

14. The portable dehumidifier of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of colors comprises:

a red color to indicate that the portable dehumidifier is not operating normally; and

a green color to indicate that the portable dehumidifier is operating normally.

15. The portable dehumidifier of claim 13 , wherein the control panel is located on a top side of the portable dehumidifier adjacent to the airflow outlet.

16. The portable dehumidifier of claim 15 , wherein the control panel is angled with respect to the top side of the portable dehumidifier.

17. The portable dehumidifier of 15 , wherein the control panel is configured to receive and display the following on a home screen of the display:
