Abstract

In at least some aspects, a method includes the acts of operating a wagering game with a player on a first game platform, suspending the wagering game operating on the first game platform at a game state, automatically authenticating the player at a second game platform different than the first game platform, resuming the wagering game from the game state on the second game platform, and operating the resumed wagering game with the player differently on the second game platform than on the first game platform, the second game platform having one or more different components than the first game platform to cause the wagering game to be operated differently on the second game platform than the first game platform.

Claims (27)

1. A method for presenting wagering games, the method comprising:

receiving a wager at a first platform for playing a first wagering game at the first platform, the first platform having a first capability with respect to utilization of a non-credit game feature;

accumulating the non-credit game feature during play of the first game at the first platform;

storing the accumulated non-credit game feature in an electronic memory device;

receiving a wager at a second platform for playing a second wagering game at the second platform, the second platform having a second, different capability with respect to utilization of the stored non-credit game feature which prevents replication of the stored non-credit game feature at the second platform as compared to the first platform;

abstracting the stored non-credit game feature to accommodate the second capability of the second platform; and

utilizing the abstracted non-credit game feature during play of the second game at the second platform.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the storing is in response to a command to terminate play of the first game at the first platform.

3. The method of claim 1 , further including automatically authenticating a player at the second platform prior to the receiving the wager at the second platform.

4. The method of claim 1 , further including detecting an instruction to utilize the stored non-credit game feature in the second game at the second platform.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the abstracting includes scaling down content details from the first platform to the second platform.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the abstracting includes one or more of a different video resolution, different audio presentation, different game speed, video instead of mechanical presentation, 2D graphics instead of 3D graphics, static graphics instead of animated graphics, different timing between animations, different degree of transitions, audio instead of video, or different details in graphics.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the storing includes storing the accumulated non-credit game feature in a player account in the electronic memory device.

8. The method of claim 1 , further including receiving a player selection of the stored non-credit game feature from a plurality a previously stored non-credit game features.

an electronic memory device configured to store the accumulated non-credit game feature; and

a second platform configured to receive a wager for playing a second wagering game at the second platform, the second platform having a second, different capability with respect to utilization of the stored non-credit game feature which prevents replication of the stored non-credit game feature at the second platform as compared to the first platform, the second platform configured to abstract the stored non-credit game feature to accommodate the second capability of the second platform, the second platform configured to utilize the abstracted non-credit game feature during play of the second game at the second platform.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the electronic memory device is configured to store the accumulated non-credit game feature in response to a command to terminate play of the first game at the first platform.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the second platform is configured to automatically authenticate a player at the second platform.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the second platform is configured to detect an instruction to utilize the stored non-credit game feature in the second game at the second platform.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the second platform is configured to abstract the stored non-credit game feature by scaling down content details of the non-credit game feature.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the second platform is configured to abstract the stored non-credit game feature by utilizing one or more of a different video resolution, different audio presentation, different game speed, video instead of mechanical presentation, 2D graphics instead of 3D graphics, static graphics instead of animated graphics, different timing between animations, different degree of transitions, audio instead of video, or different details in graphics.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the electronic memory devices includes a player account for storing the accumulated non-credit game feature.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the first platform is a floor-standing wagering game machine, and the second platform is a mobile device.
