Abstract

The invention relates to a computer implemented system that automates ATM deployment. The innovative system comprises a datacenter that communicates via a communication network to a first plurality of remote devices, via a remote server, and to a second plurality of remote devices. The centralized server comprises: a phone home tool that receives a remote request from a remote ATM device and transmits, in response to the remote request, configuration data to the remote ATM device to initiate an automated software build; a retail event management tool that provides a user interface that integrates multiple backend systems to control operating software migrations; an ATM management tool that preloads the remote ATM device with software and patch management data; and a software policy tool that that standardizes disparate ATM models and manages multiple components of an ATM software build.

Claims (49)

1. A computer implemented system that automates ATM deployment, the system comprises:

a centralized server comprising a processor;

a standardized repository that stores ATM configuration data; and

a datacenter that communicates via a communication network to a first plurality of remote devices, via a remote server, and to a second plurality of remote devices; the centralized server comprises:

a phone home tool that receives a remote request from a remote ATM device and transmits, in response to the remote request, configuration data to the remote ATM device to initiate an automated software build;

a retail event management tool that provides a user interface that integrates multiple backend systems to control operating software migrations and enables a user, at the centralized server, to schedule immediate anti-viral actions for deployment at a plurality of remote ATM devices; wherein the anti-viral actions include both of identifying a security vulnerability and providing a mitigating patch to the plurality of remote ATM devices in response to the detection of the vulnerability; wherein the retail event management tool is further configured to:

identify and display a preload summary for each of the first and second plurality of remote devices; wherein the preload summary for each of the first and second remote devices identifies a current progress of a preload software and patch management data transmitted from the datacenter to each of the first and second plurality of remote devices;

an ATM management tool that preloads the remote ATM device with software and patch management data; and

a software policy tool that that standardizes disparate ATM models and manages multiple components of an ATM software build; wherein the software policy tool is configured to:

receive a software release from a third party,

compare the software release to the ATM configuration data stored in the standardized repository to identify specific ATM devices required to be updated based on the information provided by the software release; and

in response to identifying the specific ATM devices, transmit patches to the particular ATM devices as a preload for installation.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user interface enables a user to drill down to details at an ATM device level.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user interface enables a user to schedule software releases and software updates.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user interfaces enables a user to schedule immediate software patches for deployment at a plurality of remote ATM devices.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the ATM management tool provides a unified and centralized distribution readiness for multiple ATM environments.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein the phone home tool is configured to:

scrape one or more attributes from each of a plurality of remote ATM devices;

determine, based on the one or more attributes of the plurality of ATM devises, a subset of the plurality of ATM devices that require updated software;

in response, transmit configuration data to the subset of the plurality of ATM devices to initiate an automated software build at each of the subset of the plurality of remote ATM devices.

The system of claim 1 , wherein, in response to a hardware swap at a remote ATM device, the phone home tool is configured to automatically receive a remote request from the remote ATM device, and transmit updated configuration data related to the hardware swap to the remote ATM device to initiate an automatic software build related to the hardware swap.

8. A non-transitory computer readable medium containing program instructions that automates ATM deployment, wherein execution of the program instructions by one or more processors of a computer system causes the one or more processors to carry out the steps of:

receiving, via a phone home tool, a remote request from a remote ATM device;

transmitting, in response to the remote request, configuration data to the remote ATM device to initiate an automated software build;

providing, via a retail event management tool, a user interface that integrates multiple backend systems to control operating software migrations and enables a user, at a centralized server, to schedule immediate anti-viral actions for deployment at a plurality of remote ATM devices; wherein the anti-viral actions include both of identifying a security vulnerability and providing a mitigating patch to the plurality of remote ATM devices in response to the detection of the vulnerability;

preloading, via an ATM management tool, the remote ATM device with software and patch management data;

identifying and displaying a preload summary, via the retail management tool; wherein the preload summary identifies a current progress of a preload software and patch management data transmitted from the datacenter to the remote ATM device at least one other remote ATM device;

receiving, via a software policy tool, a software release from a third party,

comparing, via the software policy tool, the software release to the ATM configuration data stored in the standardized repository to identify specific ATM devices required to be updated based on the information provided by the software release; and

in response to identifying the specific ATM devices, transmitting, via the software policy tool, the patches to the particular ATM devices as a preload for installation; and

Wherein disparate ATM models are standardized via the software policy tool that further manages multiple components of an ATM software build.

9. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the user interface enables a user to drill down to details at an ATM device level.

10. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the user interface enables a user to schedule software releases and software updates.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , Wherein the user interfaces enables a user to schedule immediate software patches for deployment at a plurality of remote ATM devices.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the ATM management tool provides a unified and centralized distribution readiness for multiple ATM environments.

13. A computer implemented method that automates ATM deployment, the computer implemented method comprising the steps of:

receiving, via a phone home tool, a remote request from a remote ATM device;

transmitting, in response to the remote request, configuration data to the remote ATM device to initiate an automated software build;

providing, via a retail event management tool, a user interface that integrates multiple backend systems to control operating software migrations and enables a user, at a centralized server, to schedule immediate anti-viral actions for deployment at a plurality of remote ATM devices; wherein the anti-viral actions include both of identifying a security vulnerability and providing a mitigating patch to the plurality of remote ATM devices in response to the detection of the vulnerability;

preloading, via an ATM management tool, the remote ATM device with software and patch management data;

identifying, and displaying a preload summary, via the retail management tool; wherein the preload summary identifies a current progress of a preload software and patch management data transmitted from the datacenter to the remote ATM device, and at least one other remote ATM device;

receiving, via a software policy, tool, a software release from a third party,

comparing, via the software policy tool, the software release to the ATM configuration data stored in the standardized repository to identify specific ATM devices required to be updated based on the information provided by the software release; and

in response to identifying the specific ATM devices, transmitting, via the software policy tool, the patches to the particular ATM devices as a preload for installation; and

wherein disparate ATM models are standardized via a software policy tool that further manages multiple components of an ATM software build.

14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the user interface enables a user to drill down to details at an ATM device level.

15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the user interface enables a user to schedule software releases and software updates.

16. The method of claim 13 , wherein the user interfaces enables a user to schedule immediate software patches for deployment at a plurality of remote ATM devices.

17. The method of claim 13 , wherein the ATM management tool provides a unified and centralized distribution readiness for multiple ATM environments.
