Abstract

A gaming machine having a game controller and a display. The game controller causes the display to display a feature wheel including a plurality of display slices. A first display slice is associated with a first prize of a plurality of prizes and has a respective variable size being dependent on the first prize and visually identifies the first prize relative to a second prize associated with a second display slice.

Claims (38)

1. A gaming machine comprising:

a display; and

a game controller comprising a processor and a memory storing instructions, which, when executed, cause the game controller to at least:

cause the display to display at a first display area, a primary game,

cause the display to display at a second display area, a feature wheel, wherein the feature wheel includes a plurality of prize slices, each prize slice comprising one prize of a plurality of prizes and a variable size being dependent on the one prize, wherein the variable size of a first prize slice showing a first prize is larger than the variable size of a second prize slice showing a second prize, when the first prize is higher than the second prize, and visually identifying the one prize relative to the plurality of prizes,

receive an input to initiate play of the primary game,

in response to a first outcome, cause the first prize of the first prize slice to increase by a first amount, and

in response to a second outcome, cause the display to display a spin of the feature wheel and select one of the plurality of prize slices.

2. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the game controller is configured to change the variable size dependent on one of the prize slices.

3. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the variable size is a slice area, and wherein a first slice has a first slice area and the first prize, and a second slice has a second slice area and the second prize, and wherein the first slice area is less than the second slice area when the first prize is less than the second prize.

4. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the variable size is a slice volume, wherein a first slice has a first slice volume and the first prize, and a second slice has a second slice volume and the second prize, and wherein the first slice volume is smaller than the second slice volume when the first prize is less than the second prize.

5. The gaming machine according to claim 4 , wherein the first slice is a first wedge-shaped slice with a first width, the second slice is a second wedge-shaped slice with a second width, and wherein the first width of the first slice is different from the second width of the second slice.

6. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the variable size is a slice width, wherein a first slice has a first slice width and the first prize, and a second slice has a second slice width and the second prize, and wherein the first slice width is narrower than the second slice width when the first prize is less than the second prize.

7. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the variable size is a slice height, wherein a first slice has a first slice height and the first prize, and a second slice has a second slice height and the second prize, and wherein the first slice height is shorter than the second slice height when the first prize is less than the second prize.

8. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of prizes are a series of prizes arranged according to a prize amount; and wherein the game controller is configured to change the variable size by increasing each variable size to proportionally reflect a different prize amount in the series of prizes.

9. The gaming machine according to claim 1 , wherein the game controller is configured to randomly select one of the prize slices.

10. The gaming machine according to claim 9 , wherein the plurality of prize slices include a number of slices where a same prize is displayed for each of the number of slices, and wherein more of the plurality of prize slices have the same prize than slices having a larger prize than the same prize.

11. A gaming machine comprising:

a display; and

a game controller comprising a processor and a memory storing instructions, which, when executed, cause the game controller to control the display to at least display a plurality of slices, and a first slice of the plurality of slices having a first prize with a first value, and a second slice of the plurality of slices having a second prize with a second value that is greater than the first value, wherein the first slice has a first size, and the second slice has a second size, and wherein the first size is smaller than the second size based on the first value being less than the second value.

12. The gaming machine according to claim 11 , wherein the game controller is configured to change the first size of the first slice.

13. The gaming machine according to claim 11 , wherein the first slice has a first slice area, and the second slice has a second slice area, and wherein the first slice area is less than the second slice area, when the first prize is less than the second prize.

14. The gaming machine according to claim 11 , wherein the first slice has a first slice volume, and the second slice has a second slice volume, and wherein the first slice volume is smaller than the second slice volume when the first value is less than the second value.

15. The gaming machine according to claim 14 , wherein the first slice is a first wedge-shaped slice with a first width, the second slice is a second wedge-shaped slice with a second width, and wherein the first width of the first slice is different from the second width of the second slice.

16. The gaming machine according to claim 11 , wherein the first slice has a first slice width, and the second slice has a second slice width, and wherein the first slice width is narrower than the second slice width when the first value is less than the second value.

17. The gaming machine according to claim 11 , wherein the first slice has a first slice height, and the second slice has a second slice height, and wherein the first slice height is shorter than the second slice height when the first value is less than the second value.

18. The gaming machine according to claim 11 , wherein the first prize and the second prize are in a series of prizes arranged according to a prize amount; and wherein the game controller is configured to change the first size by increasing the first size to proportionally reflect a different prize amount in the series of prizes.

19. The gaming machine according to claim 18 , wherein a number of the plurality of slices have same prizes, and wherein more display slices having the same prizes than slices having a larger prize.

20. A gaming machine comprising:

a display; and

a game controller comprising a processor and a memory storing instructions, which, when executed, cause the game controller to control the display to at least display a feature wheel including a plurality of slices, a first slice being associated with a first prize of a plurality of prizes and having a variable size being proportional to the first prize and visually identifying the first prize relative to a second prize associated with a second slice,

wherein the variable size of the first slice showing the first prize is larger than the variable size of the second slice showing the second prize, when the first prize is higher than the second prize, and

wherein the game controller is configured to change at least one of the variable size of the first slice and the variable size of the second slice in response to a change in a respective prize of at least one of the first slice and the second slice.

21. The gaming machine according to claim 20 , wherein the variable size is a slice area, and wherein the first slice has a first slice area and the first prize, and the second slice has a second slice area and the second prize, and wherein the first slice area is less than the second slice area when the first prize is less than the second prize.

22. The gaming machine according to claim 20 , wherein the variable size is a slice volume, wherein the first slice has a first slice volume and the first prize, and the second slice has a second slice volume and the second prize, and wherein the first slice volume is smaller than the second slice volume when the first prize is less than the second prize.

23. The gaming machine according to claim 22 , wherein the first slice is a first wedge-shaped slice with a first width, the second slice is a second wedge-shaped slice with a second width, and wherein the first width of the first slice is different from the second width of the second slice.
