Abstract

Disclosed is a display device including: a driving transistor, a first switching transistor, and a pixel transistor each having a gate and a pair of terminals; a storage capacitor having a pair of terminals; and a light-emitting element having an input terminal and an output terminal. One terminal of the driving transistor is electrically connected to one terminal of the pixel transistor. The other terminal of the driving transistor is electrically connected to one terminal of the first switching transistor and the input terminal of the light-emitting element. The other terminal of the first switching transistor is electrically connected to the gate of the driving transistor and one terminal of the capacitor. The one terminal of the capacitor overlaps with an active region of the driving transistor.

Claims (118)

1. A display device comprising:

a driving transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a one switching transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a reset transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a pixel transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a capacitor having a pair of terminals; and

a light-emitting element having an input terminal and an output terminal;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the driving transistor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the pixel transistor,

the other of the pair of terminals of the pixel transistor is electrically connected to an image signal line receiving an image signal,

the input terminal of the light emitting element receives a current flowing from the driving transistor,

one of the pair of terminals of the reset transistor is electrically connected to the input terminal of the light-emitting element,

one of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor and the gate of the driving transistor,

an active region of the reset transistor overlaps with an active region of the one switching transistor so that the gate of the reset transistor functions as the gate of the one switching transistor and the gate of the reset transistor is sandwiched between the one switching transistor and the reset transistor,

each of the active region of the reset transistor and an active region of the pixel transistor includes polysilicon,

the active region of the one switching transistor includes an oxide semiconductor, and

the one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor overlaps with an active region of the driving transistor.

2. The display device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the active region of the driving transistor includes polysilicon.

3. The display device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the gate of the driving transistor is shared by the capacitor.

4. The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a connection portion connected to the input terminal of the light-emitting element and the one of the pair of terminals of the reset transistor; and

an output transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the output transistor is electrically connected to the other of the pair of terminals of the driving transistor,

the other of the pair of terminals of the output transistor is electrically connected to the input terminal of the light-emitting element,

the image signal line extends in a first direction, and

a set of the one switching transistor and the reset transistor, the connection portion, the output transistor, and the drive transistor are arranged in this order in the first direction.

5. The display device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the pixel transistor input with the image signal is electrically connected to the one switching transistor through the driving transistor.

6. The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a further switching transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

wherein

the other of the pair of terminals of the driving transistor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the further switching transistor and the input terminal of the light-emitting element,

the other of the pair of terminals of the further switching transistor is electrically connected to the gate of the driving transistor and the one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor, and

an active region of the further switching transistor overlaps with the active region of the pixel transistor.

7. The display device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the gate of the one switching transistor is shared by the reset transistor.

8. The display device according to claim 6 ,

wherein the active region of the pixel transistor includes polysilicon, and

the active region of the further switching transistor includes an oxide semiconductor.

9. The display device according to claim 6 ,

wherein the gate of the pixel transistor is shared by the further switching transistor.

10. A display device comprising:

a driving transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a one switching transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a pixel transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a reference transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a capacitor having a pair of terminals; and

a light-emitting element having an input terminal and an output terminal;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the driving transistor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor and the input terminal of the light-emitting element,

the other of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor is electrically connected to the gate of the driving transistor and one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor,

the other of the pair of terminals of the capacitor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the pixel transistor and one of the pair of terminals of the reference transistor,

the other of the pair of terminals of the pixel transistor is electrically connected to an image signal line receiving an image signal,

the one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor overlaps with an active region of the driving transistor,

an active region of the pixel transistor overlaps with an active region of the one switching transistor so that the gate of the one switching transistor functions as the gate of the pixel transistor and the gate of the one switching transistor is sandwiched between the one switching transistor and the pixel transistor,

each of the active region of the pixel transistor and an active region of the reference transistor includes polysilicon, and

the active region of the one switching transistor includes an oxide semiconductor.

11. The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the gate of the one switching transistor is shared by the pixel transistor.

12. The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the active region of the driving transistor includes polysilicon.

13. The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the gate of the driving transistor is shared by the capacitor.

14. The display device according to claim 10 , further comprising:

an output transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the output transistor is electrically connected to the one of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor, and

the other of the pair of terminals of the output transistor is electrically connected to the input terminal of the light-emitting element.

15. The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the pixel transistor input with the image signal is electrically connected to the one switching transistor through the capacitor.

16. The display device according to claim 10 , further comprising:

a reset transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals; and

a further switching transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the reset transistor is electrically connected to the input terminal of the light-emitting element,

one of the pair of terminals of the further switching transistor is electrically connected to the one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor, the one of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor, and the gate of the driving transistor, and

an active region of the reset transistor overlaps with an active region of the further switching transistor.

17. The display device according to claim 16 ,

wherein the active region of the reset transistor includes polysilicon, and

the active region of the further switching transistor includes an oxide semiconductor.

18. The display device according to claim 16 ,

wherein the gate of the reset transistor is shared by the further switching transistor.

19. A display device comprising:

a driving transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a one switching transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a pixel transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a reference transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a reset transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

a capacitor having a pair of terminals; and

a light-emitting element having an input terminal and an output terminal;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the driving transistor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor and the input terminal of the light-emitting element,

the other of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor is electrically connected to the gate of the driving transistor and one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor,

the other of the pair of terminals of the capacitor is electrically connected to one of the pair of terminals of the pixel transistor and one of the pair of terminals of the reference transistor,

the other of the pair of terminals of the pixel transistor is electrically connected to an image signal line receiving an image signal,

the one of the pair of terminals of the capacitor overlaps with an active region of the driving transistor,

an active region of the pixel transistor and an active region of the reset transistor overlap with an active region of the one switching transistor, with the gate of the one switching transistor sandwiched therebetween, so that the gate of the one switching transistor functions as the gate of the pixel transistor and the gate of the reset transistor,

each of the active region of the pixel transistor and the active region of the reset transistor includes polysilicon, and

the active region of the one switching transistor includes an oxide semiconductor.

20. The display device according to claim 19 ,

wherein the gate of the one switching transistor is shared by the pixel transistor and the reset transistor.

21. The display device according to claim 19 ,

wherein

the active region of the driving transistor includes polysilicon,

an active region of the reference transistor overlaps with the active region of the one switching transistor, and

the active region of the reference transistor includes polysilicon.

22. The display device according to claim 19 ,

wherein the gate of the driving transistor is shared by the capacitor.

23. The display device according to claim 19 , further comprising:

an output transistor having a gate and a pair of terminals;

wherein

one of the pair of terminals of the output transistor is electrically connected to the one of the pair of terminals of the one switching transistor, and

the other of the pair of terminals of the output transistor is electrically connected to the input terminal of the light-emitting element.

24. The display device according to claim 19 ,

wherein the pixel transistor input with the image signal is electrically connected to the one switching transistor through the capacitor.
