Abstract

An apparatus for locking a sealing member of a valve in a piping system or an enclosed system comprises: (a) a locking mechanism housing having a upper end, a lower end opposed to the upper end, and a body between the upper end and the lower end; (b) at least a locking mechanism opening formed on the body; (c) at least a locking mechanism disposed in the locking mechanism opening; wherein the valve further comprises a valve housing and a sealing member; wherein the locking mechanism housing, the at least a locking mechanism opening, at least a locking mechanism, and the sealing member is disposed inside the valve housing; wherein a pressure P 1 exists in the upper end of the locking mechanism housing; and wherein a pressure P 2 exists in the lower end of the locking mechanism housing.

Claims (31)

1. An apparatus for locking a sealing member of a valve in a piping system or an enclosed system, comprising:

a locking mechanism housing having a upper end, a lower end opposed to the upper end, and a body between the upper end and the lower end;

a locking mechanism opening formed on the body;

a locking mechanism disposed in the locking mechanism opening;

wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a locking diaphragm sealed around the locking mechanism opening,

wherein the locking diaphragm is configured to form a curvature outward the locking mechanism housing and is above the sealing member of the valve, and

wherein the curvature moves toward to the locking mechanism opening when the locking diaphragm moves inwardly to the locking mechanism opening;

a sealing member;

a valve housing;

wherein the locking mechanism housing, the locking mechanism opening, the locking mechanism, and the sealing member is disposed inside the valve housing;

wherein a first pressure exists in the upper end of the locking mechanism housing; and

wherein a second pressure exists in the lower end of the locking mechanism housing.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the body further comprises at least one narrowed portion, wherein the locking mechanism opening is formed on the at least one narrowed portion.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the valve further comprises an inlet for communication with ambient environment and an outlet for communication with the piping system or the enclosed system; and wherein the lower end of the locking mechanism housing communicates with the outlet of the valve.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the valve further comprises an inlet for communication with ambient environment and an outlet for communication with the piping system or the enclosed system; wherein the upper end of the locking mechanism housing communicates with the inlet of the valve; and wherein the lower end of the locking mechanism housing communicates with the outlet of the valve.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a locking arm hinged on an upper edge of the locking mechanism opening, wherein the locking arm is configured to be above the sealing member of the valve, and wherein the locking arm moves toward to the locking mechanism opening when the locking diaphragm moves inwardly to the locking mechanism opening.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a pin attached on the locking diaphragm configured to form a curvature outward the locking mechanism housing, wherein the pin is configured to be above the sealing member of the valve, and wherein the pin toward to the locking mechanism opening when the locking diaphragm moves inwardly to the locking mechanism opening.

7. An apparatus for locking a sealing member of a valve in a piping system or an enclosed system, comprising:

a locking mechanism housing having a upper end, a lower end opposed to the upper end, and a body between the upper end and the lower end,

wherein the body further comprises at least one narrowed portion;

a locking mechanism opening formed on the body and the at least one narrowed portion;

a locking mechanism disposed in the locking mechanism opening;

wherein a first pressure exists in the upper end of the locking mechanism housing; and

wherein a second pressure exists in the lower end of the locking mechanism housing,

wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a locking diaphragm sealed around the locking mechanism opening,

wherein the locking diaphragm is configured to form a curvature outward the locking mechanism housing, and

wherein the curvature moves toward to the locking mechanism opening when the locking diaphragm moves inwardly to the locking mechanism opening.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the valve further comprises an inlet for communication with ambient environment and an outlet for communication with the piping system or the enclosed system; and wherein the lower end of the locking mechanism housing communicates with the outlet of the valve.

9. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the valve further comprises an inlet for communication with ambient environment and an outlet for communication with the piping system or the enclosed system; wherein the upper end of the locking mechanism housing communicates with the inlet of the valve; and wherein the lower end of the locking mechanism housing communicates with the outlet of the valve.

10. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a locking arm hinged on an upper edge of the locking mechanism opening, and wherein the locking arm moves toward to the locking mechanism opening when the locking diaphragm moves inwardly to the locking mechanism opening.

11. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a pin attached on the locking diaphragm outwardly the locking mechanism housing, and wherein the pin toward to the locking mechanism opening when the locking diaphragm moves inwardly to the locking mechanism opening.
