Abstract

A truss hinge that includes a number of different labeled parts, where connections between the two different parts can constrain the truss to different angles.

Claims (10)

1. A truss hinge adapted to be removably attached to a structure, the truss hinge comprising:

a first hinging part, having a first connection which connects to a first truss;

a second hinging part, hinged relative to said first hinging part, and having a second connection which connects to a second truss;

a first zero holding surface located on said first hinging part and a second zero holding surface located on said second hinging part, the first and second zero holding surfaces are configured to be connected to one another and held at a 0° angle relative to one another;

a plurality of hinging surfaces which each define a specified maximum amount of angular movement between said first truss and said second truss more than 0°, and

wherein said plurality of hinging surfaces include a first hinging surface and a second hinging surface located on said first hinging part which are both connected to a same third hinging surface that is located on said second hinging part allowing movement between said first truss and said second truss by an angular amount up to said specified amount of angular movement.

2. The truss hinge as in claim 1 , wherein said first hinging surface and said second hinging surface are holes, and said third hinging surface is a slot.

3. The truss hinge as in claim 1 wherein said plurality of hinging surfaces further include a plurality of different holes, and a plurality of different slots, and where each of the plurality of different holes and plurality of different slots defines a different amount of angle between said first and second hinging parts.

4. The truss hinge as in claim 1 , further comprising engraving on openings on said first hinging part, said engraving indicating an amount of hinging that will be allowed when connecting said openings to said second hinging part.

5. The truss hinge as in claim 4 , wherein said first hinging part includes stop surfaces and markings for specified angles of 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, 25°, 30°, 35°, 40° and 45° between said hinging parts.
