Abstract

ECM based compositions including amniotic membrane and methods for employing same to treat cardiovascular disorders.

Claims (2)

1 . A composition for treating damaged cardiovascular tissue, comprising:

an extracellular matrix (ECM) composition consisting of acellular ECM from basement membrane of amniotic membrane and exogenously added cytokine, wherein a cytokine augmented ECM composition is formed, whereby, when said cytokine augmented ECM composition is delivered to infarcted cardiovascular tissue, said cytokine augmented ECM composition induces angiogenesis, bioremodeling of said infarcted cardiovascular tissue and regeneration of new cardiovascular tissue structures with site specific structural and functional properties.
