Adjustable locator retaining wall block and mold apparatus
View Patent ↗A system of retaining wall blocks, a method of assembling a retaining wall block assembly, and a mold for manufacturing retaining wall blocks having adjustable engagement configurations.
1. A concrete retaining wall block comprising:
a forward engagement cavity located on a top surface of two transverse members adjacent to a front member;
a rear engagement cavity located on the top surface of the two transverse members adjacent to a rear member;
the front member having a height, a width, a front surface and a rear surface;
the rear member oriented parallel to the front member;
the two transverse members connecting the front member to the rear member and forming a core therebetween;
wherein the transverse members are oriented perpendicular to the front and rear members;
wherein the transverse members are spaced such that stacking multiple courses of the concrete retaining wall blocks in an overlap running bond causes the transverse members to superpose each other;
wherein at least one transverse member comprises an integrally-formed engagement protrusion located on a bottom surface adjacent to the front member and adjacent to an integrally formed cavity.
2. The concrete block of claim 1 , wherein the sides of the integrally-formed engagement protrusion being coplanar with the sides of the transverse member.
3. A concrete retaining wall block comprising:
two transverse members connecting a front member to a rear member and forming a core therebetween;
at least one transverse member having a first cavity along a top surface adjacent the front member;
at least one transverse member having a second cavity along the top surface adjacent the rear member;
at least one transverse member having a third cavity along a bottom surface;
wherein the front member having a height, a width, a front surface and a rear surface;
wherein the rear member is oriented parallel to the front member;
wherein the transverse members are oriented perpendicular to the front and rear members; and
wherein each transverse member comprises an integrally-formed engagement protrusion located on a bottom surface adjacent to the front member.
4. The concrete retaining wall block of claim 3 wherein the transverse members are spaced such that stacking multiple courses of the concrete retaining wall blocks in an overlap running bond causes the transverse members to superpose each other.
5. The concrete retaining wall block of claim 3 wherein the sides of the integrally-formed engagement protrusion are coplanar with the sides of the transverse member.
