Abstract

The soybean variety HLL0771 is disclosed. The invention relates to seeds, plants, plant cells, plant tissue, harvested products and soybean lint as well as to hybrid soybean plants and seeds obtained by repeatedly crossing plants of variety HLL0771 with other plants. The invention also relates to plants and varieties produced by the method of essential derivation from plants of HLL0771 and to plants of HLL0771 reproduced by vegetative methods, including but not limited to tissue culture of regenerable cells or tissue from HLL0771.

A method of producing a soybean plant with modified fatty acid metabolism or modified carbohydrate metabolism, wherein the method comprises transforming the plant of claim 2 with a transgene encoding a protein of phytase, fructosyltransferase, levansucrase, α-amylase, invertase and starch branching enzyme or encoding an antisense gene of stearyl-ACP desaturase.

17. A soybean plant having modified fatty acid metabolism or modified carbohydrate metabolism produced by the method of claim 16 , wherein the soybean plant has all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety HLL0771 when grown under the same environmental conditions.

18. A method of introducing a desired trait into soybean variety HLL0771, wherein the method comprises:

(a) crossing a HLL0771 plant, wherein a representative sample of seed is deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-125952, with a plant of another soybean variety that comprises a desired trait to produce progeny plants wherein the desired trait is male sterility, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism, modified seed yield, modified oil percent, modified protein percent, modified lodging resistance, modified shattering, modified iron-deficiency chlorosis, or resistance to bacterial disease, fungal disease or viral disease;

(b) selecting one or more progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected progeny plants;

(c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the HLL0771 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;

(d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety HLL0771 listed in Table 1; and

(e) repeating steps (c) and (d) two or more times in succession to produce selected third or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety HLL0771 listed in Table 1, when grown under the same environmental conditions.
