Abstract

Disclosed are examples of systems, apparatus, methods and computer program products for presenting a property editor component in a web application builder framework. A database system maintains a database associated with a number of web application builder components, each with one or more attributes, for constructing web application components based on user input. The system receives a user request to generate a property editor component within the web application builder framework to include one or more user-defined property fields, each associated with a text label and configured to accept input. Based on the user request, a property editor component is generated and displayed, with the web application builder framework implementing the property editor component.

Claims (47)

1. A system comprising:

a database system implemented using a server system, the database system configurable to cause:

providing for interaction with a database identifying a plurality of web application builder components configured to be used to construct a plurality of components of a web application and further configured to be reusable within a server-hosted web application builder framework, each of the web application components comprising a respective one or more attributes;

processing a first user request to generate a property editor component within the web application builder framework, the first user request identifying one or more user-defined property fields, each of the property fields associated with a respective text label;

generating the property editor component based on the first user request;

displaying, on one or more client devices, a graphical presentation of the web application builder framework implementing at least the property editor component, the implemented property editor component presenting the one or more property fields, the presented one or more property fields configured to accept first user input;

identifying a first one of the web application components having a first one or more attributes as being associated with the presented one or more property fields; and

configuring, responsive to receiving the first user input, the first one or more attributes of the first web application component according to the first user input.

2. The system of claim 1 , the database system further configurable to cause:

displaying, on one or more client devices, a web application builder for constructing web applications, the web application builder implementing one or more property sheets based on the property editor component.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the one or more property sheets comprise the one or more property fields.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one property field is associated with a user-defined drop-down input box.

5. The system of claim 4 , the database system further configurable to cause:

determining one or more drop-down input box options associated with at least one attribute of one of the web application components, wherein the drop-down input box comprises the one or more drop-down input box options.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the property editor component comprises one or more pre-defined property fields different from the one or more user-defined property fields.

7. The system of claim 1 , the database system further configurable to cause:

displaying, on one or more client devices, a user interface comprising a plurality of interactive elements associated with generating a property editor component.

8. A method comprising:

providing for interaction with a database identifying a plurality of web application builder components configured to be used to construct a plurality of components of a web application and further configured to be reusable within a server-hosted web application builder framework, each of the web application components comprising a respective one or more attributes;

processing a first user request to generate a property editor component within the web application builder framework, the first user request identifying one or more user-defined property fields, each of the property fields associated with a respective text label;

generating the property editor component based on the first user request;

causing, for display on one or more client devices, a graphical presentation of the web application builder framework implementing at least the property editor component, the implemented property editor component presenting the one or more property fields, the presented one or more property fields configured to accept first user input;

identifying a first one of the web application components having a first one or more attributes as being associated with the presented one or more property fields; and

configuring, responsive to receiving the first user input, the first one or more attributes of the first web application component according to the first user input.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

causing, for display on one or more client devices, a web application builder for constructing web applications, the web application builder implementing one or more property sheets based on the property editor component.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more property sheets comprise the one or more property fields.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein at least one property field is associated with a user-defined drop-down input box.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining one or more drop-down input box options associated with at least one attribute of one of the web application components, wherein the drop-down input box comprises the one or more drop-down input box options.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the property editor component comprises one or more pre-defined property fields different from the one or more user-defined property fields.

14. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

causing, for display on one or more client devices, a user interface comprising a plurality of interactive elements associated with generating a property editor component.

15. A computer program product comprising computer-readable program code capable of being executed by one or more processors when retrieved from a non-transitory computer-readable medium, the program code comprising instructions configurable to cause:

providing for interaction with a database identifying a plurality of web application builder components configured to be used to construct a plurality of components of a web application and further configured to be reusable within a server-hosted web application builder framework, each of the web application components comprising a respective one or more attributes;

processing a first user request to generate a property editor component within the web application builder framework, the first user request identifying one or more user-defined property fields, each of the property fields associated with a respective text label;

generating the property editor component based on the first user request;

displaying, on one or more client devices, a graphical presentation of the web application builder framework implementing at least the property editor component, the implemented property editor component presenting the one or more property fields, the presented one or more property fields configured to accept first user input;

identifying a first one of the web application components having a first one or more attributes as being associated with the presented one or more property fields; and

configuring, responsive to receiving the first user input, the first one or more attributes of the first web application component according to the first user input.

16. The computer program product of claim 15 , the program code comprising instructions further configurable to cause:

displaying, on one or more client devices, a web application builder for constructing web applications, the web application builder implementing one or more property sheets based on the property editor component.

17. The computer program product of claim 16 , wherein the one or more property sheets comprise the one or more property fields.

18. The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein at least one property field is associated with a user-defined drop-down input box.

19. The computer program product of claim 18 , the program code comprising instructions further configurable to cause:

determining one or more drop-down input box options associated with at least one attribute of one of the web application components, wherein the drop-down input box comprises the one or more drop-down input box options.

20. The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein the property editor component comprises one or more pre-defined property fields different from the one or more user-defined property fields.
