Magnesium biotinate compositions and methods of use
The present application relates to magnesium biotinate compositions and methods of use. The methods and compositions disclosed herein are particularly useful for providing bioavailable biotin to mammals and treating or preventing symptoms of biotin deficiency.
1. A powder composition comprising:
isolated crystalline or isolated amorphous magnesium biotinate; and
optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, carrier, or diluent.
2. The powder composition of claim 1 , comprising 10 mg of magnesium biotinate.
3. The powder composition of claim 1 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is magnesium D-biotinate.
4. The powder composition of claim 1 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is enriched with respect to the D-enantiomer.
5. A dosage form comprising the powder composition of claim 1 .
6. A powder composition comprising:
from 10 mg to 100 mg of isolated crystalline or isolated amorphous magnesium biotinate;
an additional therapeutic agent; and
optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, carrier, or diluent.
7. The powder composition of claim 6 , comprising 10 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
8. The powder composition of claim 6 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is magnesium D-biotinate.
9. The powder composition of claim 6 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is enriched with respect to the D-enantiomer.
10. A dosage form comprising the powder composition of claim 6 .
11. A powder composition comprising:
isolated crystalline or isolated amorphous magnesium biotinate;
optionally an additional therapeutic agent; and
optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, carrier, or diluent;
wherein the magnesium biotinate is at least 3.9 wt % magnesium.
12. The powder composition of claim 11 , comprising from 10 mg to 100 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
13. The powder composition of claim 11 , comprising 10 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
14. The powder composition of claim 11 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is magnesium D-biotinate.
15. The powder composition of claim 11 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is enriched with respect to the D-enantiomer.
16. A dosage form comprising the powder composition of claim 11 .
17. A dosage form comprising:
an effective amount of isolated crystalline or isolated amorphous magnesium biotinate; and
optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, carrier, or diluent;
wherein said effective amount is sufficient to deliver 10 mg of biotin to a subject.
18. The dosage form of claim 17 , wherein said effective amount is from 10 mg to 100 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
19. The dosage form of claim 17 , wherein said effective amount is 10 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
20. The dosage form of claim 17 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is magnesium D-biotinate.
21. The dosage form of claim 17 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is enriched with respect to the D-enantiomer.
22. A dosage form comprising:
an effective amount of isolated crystalline or isolated amorphous magnesium biotinate;
optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, carrier, or diluent; and
an additional therapeutic agent;
wherein said effective amount is sufficient to deliver 10 mg of biotin to a subject.
23. The dosage form of claim 22 , wherein said effective amount is from 10 mg to 100 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
24. The dosage form of claim 22 , wherein said effective amount is 10 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
25. The dosage form of claim 22 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is magnesium D-biotinate.
26. The dosage form of claim 22 , wherein the magnesium biotinate is enriched with respect to the D-enantiomer.
27. The powder composition of claim 1 , comprising from 10 mg to 100 mg of the magnesium biotinate.
