Abstract

A mounting clip and a system for mounting a vertical panel from a support member suspended from a ceiling. The mounting clip has a panel mounting section, a support member receiving portion, and a movable mounting section. The support member receiving portion extends from the panel mounting section. The movable mounting section can be rotated relative to the support member receiving portion to secure the mounting clip to the support member.

Claims (34)

1. Mounting hardware for mounting a vertical panel from a support member suspended from a ceiling, the mounting hardware comprising;

a panel mounting section having a first major surface opposite a second major surface;

a support member receiving portion extending from the panel mounting section, the support member receiving portion having a first major surface opposite a second major surface; and

a movable mounting section which can be rotated relative to the support member receiving portion to secure the mounting hardware to the support member, the movable mounting section has a mounting flange with at least one screw receiving opening which extends therethrough;

wherein the movable mounting section extends from the support member receiving portion and connection legs extend between the support member receiving portion and the movable mounting section, the connection legs configured to allow the movable mounting section to rotate about the support member receiving portion;

wherein the first major surface of the panel mounting section and the first major surface of the support member receiving portion are coplanar, and wherein a locating tab is provided on the movable mounting section.

2. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 1 , wherein the panel mounting section comprising an upper portion and a lower portion, and a first tooth extends from the first major surface of the panel mounting section at the lower portion, and a second tooth extends from the second major surface of the panel mounting section at the lower portion.

3. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 2 , wherein the first tooth extends substantially orthogonal to the first major surface of the panel mounting section, and wherein the second tooth extends substantially orthogonal to the second major surface of the panel mounting section.

4. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 2 , wherein the first tooth is horizontally offset from the second tooth.

5. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 2 , wherein the support member receiving portion comprises a hook arm.

6. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 2 , wherein the hook arm extends upward from the upper portion of the panel mounting section.

7. Mounting hardware for mounting a vertical panel from a support member suspended from a ceiling, the mounting hardware comprising;

a panel mounting section;

a support member receiving portion extending from the panel mounting section; and

a movable mounting section which can be rotated relative to the support member receiving portion to secure the mounting hardware to the support member;

wherein the movable mounting section extends from the support member receiving portion and connection legs extend between the support member receiving portion and the movable mounting section, the connection legs configured to allow the movable mounting section to rotate about the support member receiving portion; and

wherein the panel mounting section has openings which extend therethrough which allow adhesive to flow therethrough and wherein teeth are formed along the edge of the panel mounting section which is furthest from the support member receiving portion.

8. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 7 , wherein the panel mounting section comprising an upper portion and a lower portion, and a first tooth extends from a first major surface of the panel mounting section at the lower portion, and a second tooth extends from a second major surface of the panel mounting section at the lower portion.

9. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 8 , wherein the first tooth extends substantially orthogonal to the first major surface of the panel mounting section and the second tooth extends substantially orthogonal to the second major surface of the panel mounting section.

10. Mounting hardware for mounting a vertical panel from a support member suspended from a ceiling, the mounting hardware comprising;

a panel mounting section having a first major surface opposite a second major surface as well as an upper portion and a lower portion;

a first tooth extending from the first major surface of the panel mounting section at the lower portion in a first direction and a second tooth extending from the second major surface of the panel mounting section at the lower portion in a second direction, the first direction being opposite the second direction;

a support member receiving portion extending from the upper portion of the panel mounting section; and

a movable mounting section which can be rotate relative to the support member to secure the mounting hardware to the support member;

wherein the panel mounting section has a plate section with the support member receiving portion extending from one end thereof.

11. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the support member receiving portion has a lead-in surface and a slot.

12. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the movable mounting section extends from the support member receiving portion and connection legs extend between the support member receiving portion and the movable mounting section, the connection legs configured to allow the movable mounting section to rotate about the plate section.

13. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 12 , wherein the movable mounting section has a mounting flange with a screw receiving opening which extends therethrough.

14. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the first tooth extends substantially orthogonal to the first major surface of the panel mounting section and the second tooth extends substantially orthogonal to the second major surface of the panel mounting section.

15. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the first tooth is horizontally offset from the second tooth.

16. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the support member receiving portion comprises a hook arm.

17. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the hook arm extends upward from the upper portion of the panel mounting section.

18. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the support member receiving portion has a first major surface opposite a second major surface; and wherein the first major surface of the panel mounting section and the first major surface of the support member receiving portion are coplanar.

19. The mounting hardware as recited in claim 10 , wherein the panel mounting section is a plate comprising the first major surface and the second major surface.
