Abstract

Methods, systems, and devices are described herein for providing a selection of dice to use in a dice gaming system. In one aspect, a method for providing a selection of dice may include providing X selection items corresponding to Y separate dice systems, where each of the Y separate dice systems are configured to throw at least one dice in an enclosed space. The method may further include receiving a selection of the X selection items corresponding to the Y separate dice systems. The method may additionally include visually indicating the selection of the X selection items.

Claims (26)

1. A method for providing a selection of dice to use in a dice gaming system, the method comprising:

providing a user interface configured to receive X selection items each corresponding to a dice system among Y separate dice systems,

wherein each dice system of the Y separate dice systems comprises at least one dice having embedded RFID tags each corresponding to a face of the dice;

receiving a selection of the X selection items corresponding to the Y separate dice systems;

visually indicating the selection of the X selection items on the user interface;

in response to receiving the selection of the X selection items, vertically driving a movable platform for each corresponding dice system to vertically throw the at least one dice in an enclosed space for each corresponding dice system,

wherein the vertically driving is in according with a drive sequence comprising one or more adjustable parameters including a drive force and a desired jump height of the at least one dice;

detecting a RFID tag response for each of the at least one dice using a RFID detection device; and

identifying an upward face of each of the at least one dice on the movable platform based on the RFID tag response for the dice.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein visually indicating includes indicating the X selection items through a graphical user interface.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the user interface includes Y buttons and indicating includes changing a display aspect of X selected buttons.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein visually indicating includes activating one or more illumination sources associated with X selected dice systems corresponding to the X selection items.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

causing X dice systems corresponding to the selection of the X selection items to throw the at least one dice in each X dice system.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

visually indicating which of Z dice systems among the Y separate dice systems that have not been selected.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein visually indicating the Z dice systems among the Y separate dice systems that have not been selected comprises turning off one or more illumination sources associated with the Z dice systems.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein visually indicating the Z dice systems among the Y separate dice systems that have not been selected comprises making the Z dice systems not visible to a player of the dice gaming system.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein making the Z dice systems not visible includes activating a smart film or shield around the enclosed space so the at least one dice is not visible.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein making the Z dice systems not visible includes completely removing the Z dice systems from being visible.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein completely removing the Z dice systems includes removing the Z dice systems with a mechanical device below a platform so the Z dice systems are not visible.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the mechanical device is one or more of a mechanical, electro-mechanical, or magnetic elevator.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving includes receiving the selection from a graphic user interface, and wherein the X selection items comprise at least one visual selection item of the graphical user interface displayed via a display device.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving includes receiving the selection from a user interface, and wherein the user interface comprises at least one physical selection button or switch.

15. The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the selection includes receiving the selection from a processor associated with the dice gaming system if the selection is not made by a player within a predetermined time period.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the selection from the processor is randomly generated.
