Abstract

A system for controlling access within an enterprise to information associated with recipients of an electronic message campaign of the enterprise sent to a plurality of recipient devices wherein the enterprise includes hierarchically structured Business Units having an enterprise level Business Unit at the highest level and a plurality of second level Business Units and an enterprise system communicatively coupled to a network and including an enterprise level device communicatively coupled to a plurality of second level devices includes a server and an electronic message engine The server is configured to assign an enterprise account to the enterprise system and to allow the enterprise level device to communicate selected portions of the recipient list. The electronic message engine is configured to generate electronic messages within a message campaign for sending to recipients identified by each of the second level devices from the selected portions of the recipient list.

Claims (56)

1. A system for controlling access within an enterprise to recipient information, the system comprising:

a database configured to store a first subscriber list and a second subscriber list; and

a processor coupled to the database and configured to:

filter the first subscriber list to produce the second subscriber list,

send electronic messages to recipients associated with the second subscriber list, and

generate a user interface configured to allow an electronic message system to produce a response to an unsubscribe request from a recipient of the recipients, the response selectable between:

causing the electronic message system to remove the recipient from the second subscriber list; and

causing the electronic message system to remove the recipient from the first subscriber list.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the first subscriber list to be accessible by a superior device in a tier of devices.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the second subscriber list to be accessible by a first subordinate device in the tier of devices.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the second subscriber list to be accessible by the superior device.

5. The system of claim 3 , wherein:

the database is further configured to store a third subscriber list; and

the processor is further configured to:

filter the first subscriber list to produce the third subscriber list, and

cause the third subscriber list to be accessible by a second subordinate device in the tier of devices.

6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the third subscriber list to be accessible by the superior device.

7. The system of claim 5 , wherein the processor is further configured to prevent the third subscriber list from being accessible by the first subordinate device.

8. The system of claim 5 , wherein the processor is further configure to cause the second subscriber list to be accessible by the second subordinate device.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to filter, based on data criteria, the first subscriber list to produce the second subscriber list.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the data criteria comprise demographic information.

11. The system of claim 9 , wherein the data criteria comprise geographic information.

12. The system of claim 1 , further comprising an e-mail engine coupled to the database and the processor and configured to cause e-mail messages to be transmitted.

13. The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is:

further configured to receive, from a superior device in a tier of devices, a signal; and

configured to filter, under a control of the signal, the first subscriber list to produce the second subscriber list.

14. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the database is further configured to store a third subscriber list; and

the processor is further configured to filter the second subscriber list to produce the third subscriber list.

15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause:

the first subscriber list to be accessible by a superior device in a tier of devices;

the second subscriber list to be accessible by a first subordinate device in the tier of devices; and

the third subscriber list to be accessible by a second subordinate device in the tier of devices.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the second subordinate device is subordinate to the first subordinate device in the tier of devices.

17. The system of claim 14 , wherein the processor is:

further configured to receive, from a superior device in a tier of devices, a first signal;

configured to filter, under a control of the first signal, the first subscriber list to produce the second subscriber list;

further configured to receive, from the superior device, a second signal; and

configured to filter, under a control of the second signal, the second subscriber list to produce the third subscriber list.

18. The system of claim 14 , wherein the processor is:

further configured to receive, from a superior device in a tier of devices, a first signal;

configured to filter, under a control of the first signal, the first subscriber list to produce the second subscriber list;

further configured to receive, from a subordinate device in the tier of devices, a second signal; and

configured to filter, under a control of the second signal, the second subscriber list to produce the third subscriber list.

19. A method for controlling access within an enterprise to recipient information, the method comprising:

filtering, by a processor, a first subscriber list to produce a second subscriber list;

sending, by the processor, electronic messages to recipients associated with the second subscriber list; and

generating, by the processor, a user interface configured to allow an electronic message system to produce a response to an unsubscribe request from a recipient of the recipients, the response selectable between:

causing the electronic message system to remove the recipient from the second subscriber list; and

causing the electronic message system to remove the recipient from the first subscriber list.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer code for controlling access within an enterprise to recipient information, the computer code including instructions to cause a processor to:

filter a first subscriber list to produce a second subscriber list;

send electronic messages to recipients associated with the second subscriber list; and

generate a user interface configured to allow an electronic message system to produce a response to an unsubscribe request from a recipient of the recipients, the response selectable between:

causing the electronic message system to remove the recipient from the second subscriber list; and

causing the electronic message system to remove the recipient from the first subscriber list.
