Abstract

Systems and methods for increasing skin rejuvenation of a region of a patient's skin. The system includes: a pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) frequency generator that emits electromagnetic pulses to the region of the patient's skin; and a deep tissue diathermy device that applies heat to the region of the patient's skin up to temperature T. The system simultaneously applies the heat and the PEMF to the region of a patient's skin.

at least two helical coils; and

wherein all of said at least two electrodes are encircled by one helical coil per each electrode.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the following is true:

said applying of said member of said treatment group is configured to produce side effects smaller than a combination of side effects of applying said electromagnetic field pulses to said skin region alone and side effects of applying said heat to said subcutaneous tissue within said skin region alone; and

said applying of said member of said treatment group is configured to produce smaller harmful effects than a combination of harmful effects of applying said electromagnetic field pulses to said skin region alone and harmful effects of applying said heat to said subcutaneous tissue within said skin region alone.

3. The method according to claim 1 , additionally comprising a step of monitoring and/or controlling said steps of applying heat to said subcutaneous tissue within said skin region and/or said step of applying electromagnetic field pulses to said skin region.

4. The method according to claim 1 , additionally comprising a step of applying a dynamic magnetic field onto said region.

5. The method according to claim 1 , additionally comprising steps of:

(a) storing in a communicable database predetermined parameters defining (i) at least one safe treatment parameter and (ii) at least one unsafe treatment parameter, said at least one safe treatment parameter and said at least one unsafe treatment parameter selected from a group consisting of total duration of a treatment, temperature of said tissue, duty cycle, frequency, power, energy applied by pulses of said pulsed electromagnetic frequency generator, depth of treated subcutaneous tissue, magnetic field intensity, tissue impedance, specific absorption rate (SAR), treatment depth, superficial muscle contractions and any combination thereof;

(b) sensing electromagnetic radiation parameters and heat radiation parameters selected from a group consisting of total duration of a treatment, temperature of said tissue, duty cycle, frequency, power, intensity of ultrasound irradiation, energy applied by pulses of said pulsed electromagnetic frequency generator, depth of treated subcutaneous tissue, magnetic field intensity, tissue impedance, specific absorption rate (SAR), treatment depth, superficial muscle contractions and any combination thereof; and

(c) applying said member of said treatment group during time periods when all said parameters are within at least one range for said at least one safe treatment parameter and stopping application of said member of said treatment group during time periods when at least one said parameter is within at least one range of at least one said unsafe treatment parameters.

6. The method according to claim 1 , additionally comprising a step of selecting a shape of said electromagnetic field pulses, wherein said shape is selected from a group consisting of a square wave, a sine wave, a triangular wave, a sawtooth wave, a ramp wave, a spiked wave and any combination thereof.

7. The method according to claim 1 , said step of applying said electromagnetic pulses additionally comprising a step of applying a series of electromagnetic pulses, said series of electromagnetic pulses comprising recurring applications of a pattern comprising a preset number of square pulses of duration of about 1 microsecond with a duty cycle of 50% followed by a pause of not more than 250 microseconds.

8. The method according to claim 1 , said step of applying said electromagnetic pulses additionally comprising a step of applying a series of electromagnetic pulses, said series of electromagnetic pulses comprising recurring applications of a pattern comprising 10 square pulses of duration of about 1 microsecond with a duty cycle of 50% followed by a pause of not more than 512 microseconds.

9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said deep tissue diathermy device is selected from a group consisting of a device emitting RF radiation, an electrode for producing electrical current absorbed by subcutaneous tissue, an antenna that performs electromagnetic induction, and any combination thereof.
