ADMINISTRATION OF DEUTERATED CFTR POTENTIATORS
Disclosed is a method of treating in a subject of treating diseases and conditions that are beneficially treated by administering a CFTR potentiator The method comprises administering to the subject an amount in the range of about 50 mg to about 200 mg once a day of Compound (I) or (II) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, This invention also provides compositions comprising Compound (I) or (II) and the use of such compositions in methods.
1 . A method of treating a condition that is mediated by CFTR in a subject comprising administering to the subject an amount in the range of 50 mg to 200 mg, once per day, of a compound represented by the following structural formula:
Compound (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the condition is cystic fibrosis.
3 . The method of claim 1 , comprising administering to the subject 100 mg of Compound (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof per day.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is administered orally.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the compound is administered in a pharmaceutical formulation which is a tablet.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the compound is administered in a pharmaceutical formulation which is a granule.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein any atom not designated as deuterium in any of the embodiments set forth above is present at its natural isotopic abundance.
8 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent and 50 mg to 200 mg of a compound represented by the following structural formula:
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
9 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , comprising 100 mg of Compound (I).
10 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is suitable for oral administration.
11 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , wherein the composition is a tablet.
12 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , wherein the composition is a granule.
13 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , wherein the composition is administered once a day.
14 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is suitable for oral administration.
15 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein the composition is a tablet.
16 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein the composition is a granule.
17 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein the composition is administered once a day.
