Abstract

Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for wireless communication of analyte data. In this regard, in embodiments, a mobile includes a transceiver configured to transmit and receive wireless signals. The mobile device includes circuitry operatively coupled to the transceiver. The mobile device also includes a non-transitory computer-readable medium operatively coupled to the circuitry and storing instructions that, when executed, cause the mobile device to perform a number of operations. One such operation is to obtain a derivative of a first signal received via a first link. Another such operation is to obtain a derivative of a second signal received via a second link; and. Yet another such operation is to generate a selection for connection to an analyte sensor system, based on a comparison of the derivative of the first signal and the derivative of the second signal.

Claims (38)

1. A method for selecting a display device for glucose data communication, the method comprising:

generating glucose sensor data associated with a glucose concentration in a host using a transcutaneous glucose sensor of a glucose sensor system;

processing the generated glucose sensor data using a sensor electronics unit of the glucose sensor system to generate processed glucose sensor data;

receiving by the sensor electronics unit one or more signals from each of a set of display devices, wherein each of the set of display devices is configured to display information associated with the glucose sensor data generated by the transcutaneous glucose sensor of the glucose sensor system;

calculating by the sensor electronics unit a first derivative value and a second derivative value based on the one or more signals for each of the respective set of display devices;

identifying by the sensor electronics unit one or more display devices of the set of display devices for wireless communication based on, for each of the one or more display devices, the first derivative value meeting or being above a first threshold value, wherein the first threshold value is lower than a second threshold value; and

selecting by the sensor electronics unit a display device from the one or more display devices for glucose data communication based on the second derivative value associated with the selected display device, the first threshold value, and the second threshold value.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more signals comprise a first signal and a second signal;

the first signal is received from a first link of the corresponding display device;

the second signal is received from a second link of the corresponding display device;

the first derivative value of the corresponding display device is calculated based on the first signal of the corresponding display device;

the first derivative value of the selected display device is lower than the second threshold value;

the second derivative value of the corresponding display device is calculated based on the second signal of the corresponding display device; and

wherein selecting the display device is further based on the second derivative value of the selected display device being below the first threshold value.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more signals comprise a first signal and a second signal;

the first signal of the corresponding display device is received from a first link of the corresponding display device;

the second signal of the corresponding display device is received from a second link of the corresponding display device;

the first derivative value of the corresponding display device is calculated based on the first signal of the corresponding display device;

the first derivative value of the selected display device is lower than the second threshold value;

the second derivative value of the corresponding display device is calculated based on the second signal of the corresponding display device; and

wherein selecting the display device is based on the second derivative value of the selected display device meeting or being above the second threshold value.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more signals comprise a first signal and a second signal;

the first signal of the corresponding display device is received from a first link of the corresponding display device;

the second signal of the corresponding display device is received from a second link of the corresponding display device;

the first derivative value of the corresponding display device is calculated based on the first signal of the corresponding display device;

the second derivative value of the corresponding display device is calculated based on the second signal of the corresponding display device; and

wherein selecting the display device further includes comparing the first derivative value of the selected display device and the second derivative value of the selected display device.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the selecting the display device is further based on the first derivative value of the selected display device meeting or exceeding the second threshold value; and wherein the second derivative value of the selected display device is less than the first derivative value of the selected display device.

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the selecting the display device is further based on the second derivative value of the selected display device meeting or exceeding the second threshold value; and wherein the first derivative value of the selected display device is less than the second derivative value of the selected display device.

7. The method of claim 4 , wherein the one or more signals comprise a third signal that is received from the corresponding display device via a third link of the corresponding display device, the method further comprising:

the sensor electronics unit obtaining, for each of the set of display devices, a third derivative value of the third signal; and

wherein the selecting further includes comparing the third derivative value of the selected display device with the second derivative value of the selected display device.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the second derivative value of the selected display device meets or exceeds the second threshold value; and wherein the third derivative value of the selected display device is less than the second derivative value of the selected display device.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating a representation of user input from an accelerometer; and wherein the selection includes the representation of the user input from the accelerometer.
