Abstract

Provided is a game control method carried out by a game control device connected to communication terminals used by users who play a game. The device has a storage unit for storing group information indicative of a group consisting of users and game piece information indicative of game pieces constituting one item. The method includes giving a game piece to each user in accordance with a user operation to his/her communication terminal; storing obtained game piece information indicative of the game piece given to each user in the storage unit; determining whether all of the game pieces necessary to constitute the one item indicated by the game piece information are given to users constituting a group indicated by the group information based on the obtained game piece information; and giving a reward to users constituting the group if it is determined that all of the game pieces are given.

Claims (32)

1. A computer for providing a game to a user, the computer comprising:

a memory configured to store a group to which a plurality of users belong, a set of first items, and a reward in association with the set of first items; and

circuitry configured to

store, in the memory, an item associated with each user belonging to the group in accordance with a progress of the game by each user belonging to the group while a predetermined event is in progress,

determine whether the items associated with the users belonging to the group, which are stored in the memory, include the set of the first items stored in the memory,

extract the reward in association with the set of the first items from the memory to store the extracted reward in association with each user belonging to the group, in response to detecting that the items associated with the users belonging to the group include the set of the first items, and

delete the items associated with the users belonging to the group in the memory, in response to the predetermined event being ended.

2. The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is configured to make a user, not belonging to the group, belong to the group in accordance with an operation which any one of the users belonging to the group performs.

3. The computer according to claim 2 , wherein the circuitry is configured to permit a user, not belonging to the group, to participate in the group, after the user performs a predetermined operation at the start of the game.

4. The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is configured to present, in response to each user belonging to the group lending a character of each user to another user, a parameter of the character to said another user.

5. The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the game includes a battle game with a non-player character.

6. A method for controlling a computer including a memory to provide a game to a user, the method comprising:

storing, in the memory, a group to which a plurality of users belong, a set of first items, and a reward in association with the set of first items;

storing, in the memory, an item associated with each user belonging to the group in accordance with a progress of the game by each user belonging to the group while a predetermined event is in progress;

determining whether the items associated with the users belonging to the group, which are stored in the memory, include the set of the first items stored in the memory;

extract the reward in association with the set of the first items from the memory to store the extracted reward in association with each user belonging to the group, in response to detecting that the items associated with the users belonging to the group include the set of the first items; and

deleting the items associated with the users belonging to the group in the memory, in response to the predetermined event being ended.

7. A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for a computer including a memory to provide a game to a user, the program causing the computer to execute a method, the method comprising:

storing, in the memory, a group to which a plurality of users belong, a set of first items, and a reward in association with the set of first items;

storing, in the memory, an item associated with each user belonging to the group in accordance with a progress of the game by each user belonging to the group while a predetermined event is in progress;

determining whether the items associated with the users belonging to the group, which are stored in the memory, include the set of the first items stored in the memory;

extract the reward in association with the set of the first items from the memory to store the extracted reward in association with each user belonging to the group, in response to detecting that the items associated with the users belonging to the group include the set of the first items; and

deleting the items associated with the users belonging to the group in the memory, in response to the predetermined event being ended.

8. The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the game is a social game provided on a social networking service.

9. The computer according to claim 8 , wherein the plurality of users form a guild in which the plurality of users share information and items in conducting quests within the game.

10. The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the first items are items used by the plurality of users to complete one or more quests within the game, the game being a battle game.

11. The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is configured to

assign a group reward to each user belonging to the group, the group reward being a reward assigned in response to the group reaching a predetermined level within the game collectively, and

store in the memory, the group reward in response to detecting that the items associated with the users belonging to the group include the set of the first items.

12. The computer according to claim 11 , wherein

the circuitry is further configured to delete the items associated with the users in response to a predetermined period of time elapsing, and

the group loses the group reward in response to the period of time elapsing.
