Abstract

A display device includes: a pixel electrode formed in a display area; an organic layer formed on the pixel electrode and including a light emitting layer; a counter electrode formed on the organic layer; a sealing layer formed on the counter electrode; a drive circuit formed in a picture-frame area as an area outside the display area and controlling light emission of the light emitting layer; a first test electrode formed in the picture-frame area and electrically separated from the drive circuit; and a picture-frame insulating layer formed on the first test electrode.

Claims (17)

1. A display device comprising:

a substrate including a display area including a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged therein, the substrate including a picture-frame area outside the display area;

a wiring pattern including terminals arranged in the picture-frame area;

an organic layer formed on the pixel electrodes and including a light emitting layer;

a counter electrode formed on the organic layer;

a sealing layer formed on the counter electrode;

a drive circuit formed in the picture-frame area for controlling light emission of the light emitting layer;

a first test electrode formed in the picture-frame area and electrically separated from the drive circuit;

a second test electrode formed in the picture-frame area electrically separated from the drive circuit and the first test electrode; and

a picture-frame insulating layer formed on the wiring pattern and including openings to expose the respective terminals, the picture-frame insulating layer formed entirely on and in direct contact with an upper surface of the first test electrode, the picture-frame insulating layer formed entirely below and in direct contact with a lower surface of the second test electrode,

wherein the first test electrode and the second test electrode are displaced from each other so as not to be overlapped in a plan view, and

the first test electrode and the second test electrode are adjacent to at least one of the terminals in the plan view.

2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein

the picture-frame insulating layer is formed in the same layer as an insulating layer formed below the pixel electrodes.

3. The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a flexible printed board connected to some of the terminals, wherein

the terminals are located in a layer that is below the picture-frame insulating layer and in the same layer as the first test electrode, and include a conductive layer exposed from the picture-frame insulating layer.
