Abstract

The present disclosure describes systems and methods for using a template for a simulated phishing campaign, A database includes a plurality of templates for simulated phishing campaigns, each template of the plurality of templates identifying a list of a plurality of types of simulated phishing communications and at least a portion of content for the simulated phishing communications. A campaign controller selects a template from the plurality of templates for a simulated phishing campaign directed to a user of a plurality of users; and communicates, to one or more devices of the user a first type of simulated phishing communication of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications with at least the portion of content identified by the template.

Claims (35)

1. A method for using a template for a simulated phishing campaign, the method comprising:

(a) establishing in a database a plurality of templates for simulated phishing campaigns, each template of the plurality of templates identifying an ordered list of a plurality of types of simulated phishing communications different from another template and at least a portion of content for the simulated phishing communications;

(b) selecting, by a campaign controller a template from the plurality of templates for a simulated phishing campaign directed to a user of a plurality of users; and

(c) communicating, by the campaign controller, to one or more devices of the user each of the types of simulated phishing communication of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications in turn based on one or more varying time intervals in accordance with the ordered list of the template and with at least the portion of content identified by the template until one of the user fails the simulated phishing campaign or the simulated phishing campaign is complete.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining, by the campaign controller, a timing between each of the simulated phishing communications of the template.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein each template of the plurality of templates identifies an ordered list of simulated phishing communications.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications comprise two or more of the following: an email, a text or short message service (SMS) message, a phone call or an Internet based communication.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein (b) further comprises selecting the template based on at least one of the following: an industry of a company of the user, a geographic region of the user, a demographic of the user or an organizational level within company of the user.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein (b) further comprises selecting the template based on at least attributes of or a profile of the user.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein (b) further comprises selecting the template based on at least a history of the user with respect to simulated phishing communications.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein (b) further comprises selecting, by the campaign controller, the template from the plurality of templates responsive to applying a model on results of executed simulated phishing campaigns.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein (c) further comprises modifying, by the campaign controller, content of one or more of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications identified by the template responsive to applying a model on results of executed simulated phishing campaigns.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein (b) further comprises applying, by the campaign controller, a model for one or more of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications associated with the template.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein (c) further comprises communicating, by the campaign controller, the first simulated phishing communication to one or more devices of the user in accordance with the model.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein (b) further comprises selecting the template based on the selected model.

13. The method of claim 1 , further comprising adapting, by the campaign controller responsive to a model, one or more of the following of one or more of the simulated phishing communications identified by the template and being communicated to the user: type, content and time interval between simulated phishing communications.

14. The method of claim 1 , further comprising customizing, by the campaign controller, the template for the user based on at least one of a profile of the user or a classification group of the user.

15. A system for using a template for a simulated phishing campaign, the system comprising:

a database configured to store a plurality of templates for simulated phishing campaigns, each template of the plurality of templates identifying an ordered list of a plurality of types of simulated phishing communications different from another template and at least a portion of content for the simulated phishing communications;

a campaign controller executable on a processor, coupled to memory, and configured to:

select a template from the plurality of templates for a simulated phishing campaign directed to a user of a plurality of users; and

communicate to one or more devices of the user each of the types of simulated phishing communication of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications in turn based on one or more varying time intervals in accordance with the ordered list of the template and with at least the portion of content identified by the template until one of the user fails the simulated phishing campaign or the simulated phishing campaign is complete.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to determine a timing between each of the simulated phishing communications of the template.

17. The system of claim 15 , wherein each template of the plurality of templates is further configured to identify an ordered list of simulated phishing communications.

18. The system of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications comprises two or more of the following: an email, a text or short message service (SMS) message, a phone call or an Internet based communication.

19. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to select the template based on at least one of the following: an industry of a company of the user, a geographic region of the user, a demographic of the user or an organizational level within company of the user.

20. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to select the template based on at least attributes of or a profile of the user.

21. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to select the template based on at least a history of the user with respect to simulated phishing communications.

22. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to select the template from the plurality of templates responsive to applying a model on results of executed simulated phishing campaigns.

23. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to modify content of one or more of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications identified by the template responsive to responsive to applying a model on results of executed simulated phishing campaigns.

24. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to select a model for one or more of the plurality of types of simulated phishing communications associated with the template.

25. The system of claim 24 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to communicate the first simulated phishing communication to one or more devices of the user in accordance with the model.

26. The system of claim 24 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to select the template based on the selected model.

27. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to adapt, responsive to a model, one or more of the following of one or more of the simulated phishing communications identified by the template and being communicated to the user: type, content and time interval between simulated phishing communications.

28. The system of claim 15 , wherein the campaign controller is further configured to customize the template for the user based on at least one of a profile of the user or a classification group of the user.
