Abstract

One or more embodiments of the present disclosure include a content management system that allows a user to easily activate a camera while viewing digital content. For example, a content management system can provide a graphical user interface that includes a scroll element that allows a user to navigate through digital content. In addition, a user can interact with the scroll element to activate a camera. For instance, a user can activate a camera by scrolling the scroll element to and/or beyond a particular position.

Claims (42)

1. A method comprising:

providing, by a computing device, a graphical user interface corresponding to a first application for displaying digital content within a view area;

detecting a first user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface;

in response to the first user interaction, scrolling the digital content through the view area to a position comprising at least one digital content item;

detecting a second user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface;

in response to the second user interaction, scrolling the digital content through the view area to a second position at an end portion of the digital content such that a selectable camera function element scrolls into the view area when scrolling from the first position to the second position, wherein when the selectable camera function element is selected, a camera viewfinder opens in a second application that is different from the first application; and

activating the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting an interaction with the selectable camera function element.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein activating the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting the interaction with the selectable camera function element comprises providing the camera viewfinder and at least one camera control element within the view area of the graphical user interface.

3. The method as recited in claim 2 , further comprising providing an indicator within the graphical user interface that indicates a position of the digital content with respect to the end portion of the digital content and the selectable camera function element.

4. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the computing device is a mobile device comprising a touchscreen.

5. The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising:

after activating the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting the interaction with the selectable camera function element, detecting a third user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface; and

deactivating the camera viewfinder based on detecting the third user interaction.

6. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first user interaction and the second user interaction are swipe gestures.

7. The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising providing markers positioned on a scroll element, wherein the markers correspond a plurality of dates associated with the digital content.

8. The method as recited in claim 7 , further comprising labeling one or more of the markers with at least one date of the plurality of dates associated with the digital content.

9. A system comprising:

at least one processor;

at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause a computing device to:

provide a graphical user interface corresponding to a first application for displaying digital content within a view area;

detect a first user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface;

in response to the first user interaction, scroll the digital content through the view area to a position comprising a first set of digital content items;

detect a second user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface;

in response to the second user interaction, scroll the digital content through the view area to a second position at an end portion of the digital content such that a selectable camera function element scrolls into the view area when scrolling from the first position to the second position, wherein when the selectable camera function element is selected, a camera viewfinder opens in a second application that is different from the first application; and

activate the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting an interaction with the selectable camera function element.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein activating the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting the interaction with the selectable camera function element comprises providing the camera viewfinder and at least one camera control element within the view area of the graphical user interface.

11. The system as recited in claim 9 , further comprising instructions thereon that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to provide an indicator within the graphical user interface that indicates a position of the digital content with respect to the end portion of the digital content and the selectable camera function element.

12. The system as recited in claim 9 , wherein the computing device is a mobile device comprising a touchscreen.

13. The system as recited in claim 9 , further comprising:

after activating the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting the interaction with the selectable camera function element, detecting a third user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface; and

deactivating the camera viewfinder based on detecting the third user interaction.

14. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a computer system to:

provide a graphical user interface corresponding to a first application for displaying digital content within a view area;

detect a first user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface;

in response to the first user interaction, scroll the digital content through the view area to a position comprising a first set of digital content items;

detect a second user interaction with respect to the view area of the graphical user interface;

in response to the second user interaction, scroll the digital content through the view area to a second position at an end portion of the digital content such that a selectable camera function element scrolls into the view area when scrolling from the first position to the second position, wherein when the selectable camera function element is selected, a camera viewfinder opens in a second application that is different from the first application; and

activate the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting an interaction with the selectable camera function element.

15. The computer readable storage medium as recited in claim 14 , wherein the first user interaction and the second user interaction are swipe gestures.

16. The computer readable storage medium as recited in claim 15 , further comprising providing markers positioned on a scroll element, wherein the markers correspond to a plurality of dates associated with the digital content.

17. The computer readable storage medium as recited in claim 16 , further comprising labeling one or more of the markers with the at least one date of the plurality of dates associated with the digital content.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein activating the camera viewfinder in the second application in response to detecting the interaction with the selectable camera function element comprises providing the camera viewfinder and at least one camera control element within the view area of the graphical user interface.
