Abstract

Based on at least a portion of an SS block index, a UE may scramble information and a base station may descramble the scrambled information. Specifically, a UE may determine an SS block index associated with an SS block for reception. The UE may scramble information based on at least a portion of the determined SS block index. The information may include at least one of data, control information, or a CRC associated with control information. The UE may transmit the scrambled information to a base station. A base station may receive, from the UE, information scrambled based on at least a portion of an SS block index. The scrambled information may include at least one of data or control information. The base station may descramble the scrambled information based on the at least the portion of the SS block index.

Claims (66)

1. A method of wireless communication at a base station, comprising:

receiving, from a user equipment (UE), information scrambled based on a synchronization signal (SS) block index portion comprising at least a portion of an SS block index, the scrambled information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH); and

descrambling the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising sending, to the UE, an uplink grant for the information, the uplink grant being associated with the SS block index.

3. A method of wireless communication at a base station, comprising:

sending, to a user equipment (UE), Synchronization Signal (SS) block index information indicating an SS block index portion comprising at least a portion of the SS block index for scrambling the information;

receiving, from the UE, information scrambled based on at least the SS block index portion, the scrambled information including at least one of data or control information; and

descrambling the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

4. A method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), comprising:

determining a synchronization signal (SS) block index associated with an SS block;

scrambling information based on at least a portion of the determined SS block index, the information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), or a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) associated with control information; and

transmitting the scrambled information to a base station.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising receiving an uplink grant from the base station, wherein the SS block index is determined based on the uplink grant.

6. The method of claim 4 , further comprising receiving, from the base station, information indicating a Synchronization Signal (SS) block index.

The method of claim 4 , wherein the scrambling the information comprises generating a scrambling sequence based on a sequence initialization that is based at least in part on at least the portion of the SS block index, wherein the information before scrambling is at least one of encoded or unencoded, and is scrambled based on the generated scrambling sequence.

8. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a base station, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

receive, from a user equipment (UE), information scrambled based on a synchronization signal (SS) block index portion comprising at least a portion of an SS block index, the scrambled information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH)or control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH); and

descramble the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

9. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein at least one processor is further configured to send, to the UE, an uplink grant for the information, the uplink grant being associated with the SS block index.

10. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a base station, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

send, to a user equipment (UE), Synchronization Signal (SS) block index information indicating an SS block index portion comprising at least a portion of the SS block index for scrambling the information;

receive, from the UE, information scrambled based on an SS block index portion comprising at least the portion of the SS block index, the scrambled information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH)or control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH); and

descramble the scrambled information based on at least the portion of the SS block index portion.

11. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a user equipment (UE), comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

determine a synchronization signal (SS) block index associated with an SS block;

scramble information based on at least a portion of the determined SS block index, the information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), or a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) associated with control information; and

transmit the scrambled information to a base station.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to receive an uplink grant from the base station, wherein the SS block index is determined based on the uplink grant.

13. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to receive, from the base station, information indicating a Synchronization Signal (SS) block index.

14. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to scramble the information by generating a scrambling sequence based on a sequence initialization that is based at least in part on at least the portion of the SS block index, wherein the information before scrambling is at least one of encoded or unencoded, and is scrambled based on the generated scrambling sequence.

15. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for receiving, from a user equipment (UE), information scrambled based on a synchronization signal (SS) block index portion comprising at least a portion of an SS block index, the scrambled information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH); and

means for descrambling the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

16. The apparatus of claim 15 , further comprising sending, to the UE, an uplink grant for the information, the uplink grant being associated with the SS block index.

17. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for sending, to a user equipment (UE), Synchronization Signal (SS) block index information indicating an SS block index portion comprising at least a portion of the SS block index for scrambling the information;

means for receiving, from the UE, information scrambled based on at least the SS block index portion, the scrambled information including at least one of data or control information; and

means for descrambling the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

18. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

determining, at a user equipment (UE), a synchronization signal (SS) block index associated with an SS block;

scrambling, at a user equipment (UE), information based on at least a portion of the determined SS block index, the information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), or a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) associated with control information; and

transmitting the scrambled information to a base station.

19. The apparatus of claim 18 further comprising means for receiving an uplink grant from the base station, wherein the SS block index is determined based on the uplink grant.

20. The apparatus of claim 18 , further comprising means for receiving, from the base station, information indicating a Synchronization Signal (SS) block index.

21. The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the means for scrambling the information generates a scrambling sequence based on a sequence initialization that is based at least in part on at least the portion of the SS block index, and wherein the information before scrambling is at least one of encoded or unencoded, and is scrambled based on the generated scrambling sequence.

22. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing code for wireless communication, the code comprising instructions executable by a processor to:

receive, from a user equipment (UE), information scrambled based on a synchronization signal (SS) block index portion comprising at least a portion of an SS block index, the scrambled information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH); and

descramble the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

23. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 22 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to send, to the UE, an uplink grant for the information, the uplink grant being associated with the SS block index.

24. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing code for wireless communication, the code comprising instructions executable by a processor to:

send, to a user equipment (UE), Synchronization Signal (SS) block index information indicating an SS block index portion comprising at least a portion of the SS block index for scrambling the information;

receive, from the UE, information scrambled based on at least the SS block index portion, the scrambled information including at least one of data or control information; and

descramble the scrambled information based on the SS block index portion.

25. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing code for wireless communication, the code comprising instructions executable by a processor to:

determine, at a user equipment (UE), a synchronization signal (SS) block index associated with an SS block;

scramble, at a user equipment (UE), information based on at least a portion of the determined SS block index, the information including at least one of data associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), control information associated with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), or a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) associated with control information; and

transmit the scrambled information to a base station.

26. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to receive an uplink grant from the base station, wherein the SS block index is determined based on the uplink grant.

27. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to receive, from the base station, information indicating a Synchronization Signal (SS) block index.

28. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the scrambling the information includes generating a scrambling sequence based on a sequence initialization that is based at least in part on at least the portion of the SS block index, and wherein the information before scrambling is at least one of encoded or unencoded, and is scrambled based on the generated scrambling sequence.
