THERAPEUTIC COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING HARMINE AND ISOVANILLIN COMPONENTS, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Human therapeutic treatment compositions comprise at least two of a curcumin component, a harmine component, and an isovanillin component, and preferably all three in combination. The agents are effective for the treatment of human conditions, especially human cancers.
1 . A method of treating a human cancer patient comprising the step of administering to said patient an anti-cancer composition of matter comprising harmaline and a compound of the structure
where Q9 is a C3 aldehyde, and Q10 and Q11 are both H, the ratio of said harmaline to said compound being from about 0.5:1 to 15:1, said compound being present at a level of from about 25-95% by weight, and said harmaline being present at a level of from about 5-75% by weight, based upon the total weight of the composition taken as 100% by weight.
2 . The composition of claim 1 , said composition consisting essentially of harmaline and said compound having the structure set forth in claim 1 .
3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein at least one of said harmaline and said compound having the structures set forth in claim 1 is in the form of an ester, metal complex, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt.
4 . A method of treating a human cancer patient comprising the step of administering to said patient an anti-cancer composition prepared by a method comprising the step of mixing together harmaline and a compound of the structure
where Q9 is a C3 aldehyde, and Q10 and Q11 are both H, the ratio of said harmaline to said compound being from about 0.5:1 to 15:1, said compound being present at a level of from about 25-95% by weight, and said harmaline being present at a level of from about 5-75% by weight, based upon the total weight of the composition taken as 100% by weight.
5 . The method of claim 4 , said preparative method further including the step of mixing said harmaline and said compound as set forth in the structure of claim 4 in ethanol, and sonicating the mixture.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein, in said preparative method, at least one of said harmaline and said compound having the structures set forth in claim 4 is in the form of an ester, metal complex, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt.
