Abstract

Example methods disclosed herein for a station in a communication system include accessing a response frame received in response to a control frame transmitted to an access point. The response frame indicates a start time for a trigger frame to be transmitted by the access point to trigger the station to transmit an uplink transmission. Disclosed example methods also include controlling a receiver of the station to receive the trigger frame at the indicated start time. Example methods disclosed herein for an access point in a communication system include transmitting a response frame to a station in response to a control frame received from the station. The example response frame indicates a start time for a trigger frame to be transmitted by the access point to trigger the station to transmit an uplink transmission. Disclosed example methods also include transmitting the trigger frame at the indicated start time.

Claims (61)

2 . An access point comprising:

memory including machine readable instructions; and

at least one processor to execute the instructions to:

generate a first frame to be sent by the access point, the first frame to indicate a time at which the access point is to send a trigger frame;

generate the trigger frame, the trigger frame to include information corresponding to an association identifier (AID) of a first station;

configure the access point to send the trigger frame at the time indicated in the first frame; and

configure the access point to receive a transmission from the first station, the transmission to be received after the trigger frame is sent.

3 . The access point of claim 2 , wherein the at least one processor is further to configure the access point to receive a second transmission from the first station, the second transmission to be received before the first frame is sent.

4 . The access point of claim 3 , wherein the at least one processor is further to associate the first station with the trigger frame based on the second transmission from the first station.

5 . The access point of claim 2 , wherein the at least one processor is further to:

generate the trigger frame to include information corresponding to a second AID of a second station; and

configure the access point to receive a transmission from the second station after the trigger frame is sent.

6 . The access point of claim 2 , wherein the access point is to operate in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ax-compliant wireless local area network (WLAN).

7 . An access point comprising:

means for generating a first frame to be sent by the access point, the first frame to indicate a time at which the access point is to send a trigger frame;

means for generating the trigger frame and causing the trigger frame to be sent at the time indicated in the first frame, the trigger frame to include information corresponding to an association identifier (AID) of a first station; and

means for receiving a transmission from the first station, the transmission to be received after the trigger frame is sent.

8 . The access point of claim 7 , wherein the means for receiving is also to receive a second transmission from the first station, the second transmission to be received before the first frame is sent.

9 . The access point of claim 8 , further including means for associating the first station with the trigger frame based on the second transmission from the first station.

The access point of claim 7 , wherein the means for generating the trigger frame is to generate the trigger frame to include information corresponding to a second AID of a second station, and the means for receiving is to receive a transmission from the second station after the trigger frame is sent.

11 . The access point of claim 7 , wherein the access point is to operate in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ax-compliant wireless local area network (WLAN).

12 . One or more non-transitory computer readable media comprising computer readable instructions that, when executed, cause one or more processors to at least:

generate a first frame to be sent by an access point, the first frame to indicate a time at which the access point is to send a trigger frame;

generate the trigger frame, the trigger frame to include information corresponding to an association identifier (AID) of a first station;

configure the access point to send the trigger frame at the time indicated in the first frame; and

configure the access point to receive a transmission from the first station, the transmission to be received after the trigger frame is sent.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 12 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the one or more processors to configure the access point to receive a second transmission from the first station, the second transmission to be received before the first frame is sent.

14 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the one or more processors to associate the first station with the trigger frame based on the second transmission from the first station.

15 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 12 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the one or more processors to:

generate the trigger frame to include information corresponding to a second AID of a second station; and

configure the access point to receive a transmission from the second station after the trigger frame is sent.

16 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 12 , wherein the access point is to operate in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ax-compliant wireless local area network (WLAN).

17 . A station comprising:

memory including machine readable instructions; and

at least one processor to execute the instructions to:

configure the station to receive a first frame from an access point, the first frame to indicate a time at which the access point is to send a trigger frame;

cause the station to enter a doze state after receipt of the first frame;

cause the station to wake to receive the trigger frame from the access point, the trigger frame to include information corresponding to an association identifier (AID) of the station; and

configure the station to send a transmission to the access point, the transmission to be sent after receipt of the trigger frame.

18 . The station of claim 17 , wherein the at least one processor is further to configure the station to send a second transmission to the access point, the second transmission to be sent before receipt of the first frame.

19 . The station of claim 17 , wherein the at least one processor is further to detect the AID in the trigger frame.

20 . The station of claim 19 , wherein the trigger frame is to include information corresponding to a second AID of a second station.

21 . The station of claim 17 , wherein the station is to operate in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ax-compliant wireless local area network (WLAN).

22 . A station comprising:

means for decoding a first frame received from an access point, the first frame to indicate a time at which the access point is to send a trigger frame, the trigger frame to include information corresponding to an association identifier (AID) of the station;

means for causing the station to enter a doze state after receipt of the first frame, and for causing the station to wake to receive the trigger frame from the access point; and

means for causing the station to send a transmission to the access point, the transmission to be sent after receipt of the trigger frame.

23 . The station of claim 22 , further including means for causing the station to send a second transmission to the access point, the second transmission to be sent before receipt of the first frame.

24 . The station of claim 22 , wherein the means for causing the station to send the transmission to the access point is to detect the AID in the trigger frame.

25 . The station of claim 24 , wherein the trigger frame is to include information corresponding to a second AID of a second station.

26 . The station of claim 22 , wherein the station is to operate in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ax-compliant wireless local area network (WLAN).

27 . One or more non-transitory computer readable media comprising computer readable instructions that, when executed, cause one or more processors to at least:

configure a station to receive a first frame from an access point, the first frame to indicate a time at which the access point is to send a trigger frame;

cause the station to enter a doze state after receipt of the first frame;

cause the station to wake to receive the trigger frame from the access point, the trigger frame to include information corresponding to an association identifier (AID) of the station; and

configure the station to send a transmission to the access point, the transmission to be sent after receipt of the trigger frame.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 27 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the one or more processors to configure the station to send a second transmission to the access point, the second transmission to be sent before receipt of the first frame.

29 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 27 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the one or more processors to detect the AID in the trigger frame.

30 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 29 , wherein the trigger frame is to include information corresponding to a second AID of a second station.

31 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 27 , wherein the station is to operate in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ax-compliant wireless local area network (WLAN).
