SCHEDULE SELECTION AND CONNECTION SETUP BETWEEN DEVICES PARTICIPATING IN A NAN DATA LINK
A wireless device for wireless communication is configured to determine a schedule in association with one or more wake times. In addition, the wireless device is configured to determine a lifetime in association with the determined schedule. The lifetime indicates at least one of when the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the determined schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule. Further, the wireless device is configured to transmit to one or more wireless devices information indicating the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times and information indicating the determined lifetime associated with the determined schedule.
1 . A method of wireless communication of a wireless device, comprising:
determining a schedule in association with one or more wake times;
determining a lifetime in association with the determined schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the determined schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
transmitting to one or more wireless devices information indicating the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times and information indicating the determined lifetime associated with the determined schedule.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the boundary indicates when a different schedule is provided.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the schedule associated with the one or more wake times indicates at least one wake time for communicating data between the wireless device and the one or more wireless devices.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
extending the lifetime; and
transmitting to the one or more wireless devices information indicating the extended lifetime.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
evaluating the schedule; and
determining whether to extend the lifetime based on the evaluation of the schedule.
6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
extending the lifetime upon determining to extend the lifetime; and
transmitting, to the one or more wireless devices, information indicating the extended lifetime.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the evaluating the schedule comprises determining at least one of there is no more data left to transmit to at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices or to receive from at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices, a number of devices of the one or more wireless devices has changed, or battery power of at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices has changed.
8 . A method of wireless communication of a first wireless device, comprising:
receiving, from a second wireless device, a schedule associated with one or more wake times; and
receiving, from the second wireless device, a lifetime associated with the received schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
communicating with the second wireless device based on the received schedule and the received lifetime associated with the received schedule.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the boundary indicates when the first wireless device can switch to a different schedule from the second wireless device.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the schedule associated with the one or more wake times indicates at least one wake time for communicating data between the second wireless device and the first wireless device.
11 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving an extended lifetime associated with the received schedule, the extended lifetime being extended from the lifetime, wherein the communication with the second wireless device is based on the received extended lifetime.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the communication with the second wireless device is associated with a data link, the method further comprising: evaluating the schedule;
leaving the data link based on the evaluation of the schedule.
13 . An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a wireless device, comprising:
a memory; and
at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
determine a schedule in association with one or more wake times;
determine a lifetime in association with the determined schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the determined schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
transmit to one or more wireless devices information indicating the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times and information indicating the determined lifetime associated with the determined schedule.
14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the boundary indicates when a different schedule is provided.
15 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the schedule associated with the one or more wake times indicates at least one wake time for communicating data between the wireless device and the one or more wireless devices.
16 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
extend the lifetime; and
transmit to the one or more wireless devices information indicating the extended lifetime.
17 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
evaluate the schedule; and
determine whether to extend the lifetime based on the evaluation of the schedule.
18 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
extend the lifetime upon determining to extend the lifetime; and
transmit, to the one or more wireless devices, information indicating the extended lifetime.
19 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein to evaluate the schedule, the at least one processor is configured to determine at least one of there is no more data left to transmit to at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices or to receive from at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices, a number of devices of the one or more wireless devices has changed, or battery power of at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices has changed.
20 . An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a first wireless device, comprising:
a memory; and
at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
receive, from a second wireless device, a schedule associated with one or more wake times; and
receive, from the second wireless device, a lifetime associated with the received schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
communicate with the second wireless device based on the received schedule and the received lifetime associated with the received schedule.
21 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the boundary indicates when the first wireless device can switch to a different schedule from the second wireless device.
22 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the schedule associated with the one or more wake times indicates at least one wake time for communicating data between the second wireless device and the first wireless device.
23 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to receive an extended lifetime associated with the received schedule, the extended lifetime being extended from the lifetime, wherein the communication with the second wireless device is based on the received extended lifetime.
24 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the communication with the second wireless device is associated with a data link, the at least one processor being further configured to:
evaluate the schedule;
leave the data link based on the evaluation of the schedule.
25 . An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a wireless device, comprising:
means for determining a schedule in association with one or more wake times;
means for determining a lifetime in association with the determined schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the determined schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
means for transmitting to one or more wireless devices information indicating the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times and information indicating the determined lifetime associated with the determined schedule.
26 . The apparatus of claim 25 , wherein the boundary indicates when a different schedule is provided.
27 . The apparatus of claim 25 , wherein the schedule associated with the one or more wake times indicates at least one wake time for communicating data between the wireless device and the one or more wireless devices.
28 . The apparatus of claim 25 , further comprising:
means for extending the lifetime; and
means for transmitting to the one or more wireless devices information indicating the extended lifetime.
29 . The apparatus of claim 25 , further comprising:
means for evaluating the schedule; and
means for determining whether to extend the lifetime based on the evaluation of the schedule.
30 . The apparatus of claim 29 , further comprising:
means for extending the lifetime upon determining to extend the lifetime; and
means for transmitting, to the one or more wireless devices, information indicating the extended lifetime.
31 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the means for evaluating the schedule is configured to determine at least one of there is no more data left to transmit to at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices or to receive from at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices, a number of devices of the one or more wireless devices has changed, or battery power of at least one wireless device of the one or more wireless devices has changed.
32 . An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a first wireless device, comprising:
means for receiving, from a second wireless device, a schedule associated with one or more wake times; and
means for receiving, from the second wireless device, a lifetime associated with the received schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
means for communicating with the second wireless device based on the received schedule and the received lifetime associated with the received schedule.
33 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the boundary indicates when the first wireless device can switch to a different schedule from the second wireless device.
34 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the schedule associated with the one or more wake times indicates at least one wake time for communicating data between the second wireless device and the first wireless device.
35 . The apparatus of claim 32 , further comprising means for receiving an extended lifetime associated with the received schedule, the extended lifetime being extended from the lifetime, wherein the communication with the second wireless device is based on the received extended lifetime.
36 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the communication with the second wireless device is associated with a data link, the apparatus further comprising:
means for evaluating the schedule;
means for leaving the data link based on the evaluation of the schedule.
37 . A computer-readable medium storing computer executable code in a wireless device for wireless communication, comprising code to:
determine a schedule in association with one or more wake times;
determine a lifetime in association with the determined schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the determined schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
transmit to one or more wireless devices information indicating the determined schedule associated with the one or more wake times and information indicating the determined lifetime associated with the determined schedule.
38 . A computer-readable medium storing computer executable code in a first wireless device for wireless communication, comprising code to:
receive, from a second wireless device, a schedule associated with one or more wake times; and
receive, from the second wireless device, a lifetime associated with the received schedule, the lifetime indicating at least one of when the schedule associated with the one or more wake times will expire, a validity time associated with the schedule, or a boundary associated with the schedule; and
communicate with the second wireless device based on the received schedule and the received lifetime associated with the received schedule.
