SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING DEVICE-BASED FEEDBACK
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine content that was captured and provided by a camera device. At least one event that occurred in a social networking system in response to the content can be determined. One or more instructions can be provided to the camera device for illuminating one or more light sources associated with the camera device. The one or more light sources can be illuminated based at least in part on a pre-defined illumination pattern that visually communicates occurrence of the event.
1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
determining, by a computing system, content that was captured and provided by a camera device;
determining, by the computing system, at least one event that occurred in a social networking system in response to the content; and
providing, by the computing system, one or more instructions to the camera device for illuminating one or more light sources associated with the camera device, wherein the one or more light sources are illuminated based at least in part on a pre-defined illumination pattern that visually communicates occurrence of the event.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the content corresponds to at least one media content item or a live content stream.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one event corresponds to a user interacting with the content through the social networking system.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the user interaction corresponds to a user liking the content, a user posting a comment in response to the content, a user reacting to the content, or a user sharing the content.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the light sources are only illuminated when the user interacting with the content is following a broadcaster of the content within the social networking system.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the light sources are only illuminated when the user interacting with the content has been endorsed by the social networking system.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the pre-defined illumination pattern includes at least one of flashing one or more of the light sources, blinking one or more of the light sources, activating one or more light sources that emit a particular color, or activating one or more light sources at a particular brightness level.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the light sources is masked to represent a particular shape or icon.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the content corresponds to a live content stream, and wherein the at least one event corresponds to a user of the social networking system streaming the live content stream.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the content corresponds to a live content stream, and wherein at least one of the light sources is illuminated to indicate an audience size for the live content stream.
11 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; and
a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform:
determining content that was captured and provided by a camera device;
determining at least one event that occurred in a social networking system in response to the content; and
providing one or more instructions to the camera device for illuminating one or more light sources associated with the camera device, wherein the one or more light sources are illuminated based at least in part on a pre-defined illumination pattern that visually communicates occurrence of the event.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the content corresponds to at least one media content item or a live content stream.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one event corresponds to a user interacting with the content through the social networking system.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the user interaction corresponds to a user liking the content, a user posting a comment in response to the content, a user reacting to the content, or a user sharing the content.
15 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the light sources are only illuminated when the user interacting with the content is following a broadcaster of the content within the social networking system.
16 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing system, cause the computing system to perform a method comprising:
determining content that was captured and provided by a camera device;
determining at least one event that occurred in a social networking system in response to the content; and
providing one or more instructions to the camera device for illuminating one or more light sources associated with the camera device, wherein the one or more light sources are illuminated based at least in part on a pre-defined illumination pattern that visually communicates occurrence of the event.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the content corresponds to at least one media content item or a live content stream.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the at least one event corresponds to a user interacting with the content through the social networking system.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 18 , wherein the user interaction corresponds to a user liking the content, a user posting a comment in response to the content, a user reacting to the content, or a user sharing the content.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 18 , wherein the light sources are only illuminated when the user interacting with the content has been endorsed by the social networking system.
