Abstract

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can identify a first user depicted in image content captured by a second user. It is determined that the first user should be obscured in the image content based on privacy settings. The image content is modified to obscure the first user.

Claims (40)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

identifying, by a computing system, a first user depicted in a camera view, wherein the camera view depicts image content captured on a camera by a second user;

determining, by the computing system, in real-time, that the first user should be obscured in the image content based on one or more privacy settings associated with the second user;

applying, by the computing system, an augmented reality overlay on the camera view to obscure the first user;

receiving, by the computing system, a confirmation of event attendance associated with a third user;

determining, by the computing system, one or more event-specific privacy settings associated with the event; and

applying, by the computing system, the one or more event-specific privacy settings to the third user over the one or more privacy settings associated with the second user.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first user is identified based on automated facial recognition techniques.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more privacy settings comprise privacy settings associated with the first user on a system, the system including a social networking system.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the one or more privacy settings associated with the first user on the system comprise a social graph requirement.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 4 , wherein the determining that the first user should be obscured comprises determining that the first user is not a connection or a connection of the connection of the second user on the social networking system.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the event-specific privacy settings are associated with the third user based on the confirmation of event attendance.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein

the one or more privacy settings comprise a location-based privacy setting, and

the determination that the first user should be obscured is made based on location information associated with the image content.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the camera view is provided through a camera application on a user device.

9. A computing system comprising:

at least one processor; and

a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing system to perform a method comprising:

identifying a first user depicted in a camera view, wherein the camera view depicts image content captured on a camera by a second user;

determining, in real-time, that the first user should be obscured in the image content based on one or more privacy settings associated with the second user;

applying an augmented reality overlay on the camera view to obscure the first user;

receiving a confirmation of event attendance associated with a third user;

determining one or more event-specific privacy settings associated with the event; and

applying the one or more event-specific privacy settings to the third user over the one or more privacy settings associated with the second user.

10. The computing system of claim 9 , wherein the first user is identified based on automated facial recognition techniques.

11. The computing system of claim 9 , wherein the one or more privacy settings comprise privacy settings associated with the first user on a system, the system including a social networking system.

12. The computing system of claim 9 , wherein the event-specific privacy settings are associated with the third user based on the confirmation of event attendance.

13. The computing system of claim 9 , wherein the camera view is provided through a camera application on a user device.

14. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing system, cause the computing system to perform a method comprising:

identifying a first user depicted in a camera view, wherein the camera view depicts image content being captured on a camera by a second user;

determining, in real-time, that the first user should be obscured in the image content based on one or more privacy settings associated with the second user;

applying an augmented reality overlay on the camera view to obscure the first user;

receiving a confirmation of event attendance associated with a third user;

determining one or more event-specific privacy settings associated with the event; and

applying the one or more event-specific privacy settings to the third user over the one or more privacy settings associated with the second user.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the first user is identified based on automated facial recognition techniques.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the one or more privacy settings comprise privacy settings associated with the first user on a system, the system including a social networking system.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the event-specific privacy settings are associated with the third user based on the confirmation of event attendance.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the camera view is provided through a camera application on a user device.
