Abstract

In at least one embodiment, an archery bow comprises a riser supporting a first limb and a second limb. The first limb supports an axle. A first fastener extends through the first limb and a second fastener extends through the first limb. The first and second fasteners each apply a compressive force to the first limb member. The axle extends between the first fastener and the second fastener.

Claims (29)

1. An archery bow comprising:

a riser supporting a first limb and a second limb;

the first limb comprising a first end and a second end, the first end located closer to the riser than the second end, the first limb supporting a first axle, the first axle extending through the first limb, the first axle supporting a first rotatable member;

the second limb supporting a second axle, the second axle supporting a second rotatable member;

a bowstring and at least one power cable; and

a fastener extending through said first limb, the fastener located between the first axle and the first end of the first limb, a distance between the first axle and the fastener being less than a thickness of the first limb, said fastener applying a compressive force to the first limb.

2. The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein a longitudinal axis of the fastener is oriented orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the first axle.

3. The archery bow of claim 1 , comprising a bearing accessory attached to the first limb.

4. The archery bow of claim 3 , the bearing accessory attached to the fastener.

5. The archery bow of claim 1 , comprising a plate in contact with the first limb, the plate comprising an aperture, the fastener extending through the aperture.

6. The archery bow of claim 5 , wherein a head of the fastener abuts the plate.

7. The archery bow of claim 5 , the fastener comprising a first fastener, the plate comprising a second aperture, a second fastener extending through the second aperture.

8. The archery bow of claim 7 , wherein a longitudinal axis of the second fastener is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the first fastener.

9. The archery bow of claim 8 , comprising a bearing accessory attached to the first fastener and to the second fastener.

10. The archery bow of claim 1 , the first limb comprising a first length portion and a second length portion, the first length portion comprising a first thickness, the second length portion comprising a second thickness, the second thickness being greater than the first thickness, the first axle extending through the second length portion, the fastener extending through the second length portion.

11. An archery bow comprising:

a riser supporting a first limb and a second limb;

the first limb supporting a first axle, the first axle supporting a first rotatable member, the first limb comprising a first length portion and a second length portion, the first length portion located closer to the riser than the second length portion, the first length portion comprising a first thickness, the second length portion comprising a second thickness, the second thickness being greater than the first thickness, the first axle extending through second length portion;

the second limb supporting a second axle, the second axle supporting a second rotatable member;

a bowstring extending between the first rotatable member and the second rotatable member; and

a fastener extending through the second length portion, the fastener located between the first axle and the first length portion, the fastener applying a compressive force to the first limb.

12. The archery bow of claim 11 , wherein a distance between the first axle and the fastener is less than the second thickness.

13. The archery bow of claim 11 , wherein a longitudinal axis of the fastener is oriented orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the first axle.

14. The archery bow of claim 11 , comprising a bearing accessory attached to the first limb.

15. The archery bow of claim 14 , the bearing accessory attached to the fastener.

16. The archery bow of claim 11 , comprising a plate in contact with the first limb, the plate comprising an aperture, the fastener extending through the aperture.

17. The archery bow of claim 16 , the fastener comprising a first fastener, the plate comprising a second aperture, a second fastener extending through the second aperture.

18. The archery bow of claim 17 , wherein a longitudinal axis of the second fastener is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the first fastener.

19. The archery bow of claim 18 , comprising a bearing accessory attached to the first fastener and to the second fastener.
