Abstract

A smart windshield system in embodiments of the present invention may have one or more of the following features: (a) a smart windshield operably capable of displaying data to a user, (b) an Internet of Things (IoT) network operably coupled to the smart windshield and a constrained intelligent edge real time embedded device (CIERTED), (c) a wireless earpiece operably coupled to the IoT and the smart windshield, wherein the wireless earpiece can control the CIERTED and the data displayed on the smart windshield.

Claims (37)

1 . A method for utilizing a smart windshield with one or more wireless earpieces, comprising:

associating the one or more wireless earpieces with the smart windshield;

receiving data from a user wearing the one or more wireless earpieces; and

communicating the data from the one or more wireless earpieces to the smart windshield of the vehicle.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more wireless earpieces are a pair of wireless earpieces.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

verifying the user is authorized to utilize the smart windshield.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

measuring biometrics of the user utilizing the one or more wireless earpieces.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the verifying is performed utilizing biometrics measured by the one or more wireless earpieces.

6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the data includes at least the biometrics measured by the one or more wireless earpieces.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

controlling vehicle systems associated with the smart windshield utilizing user input in the data.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the user input includes one or more of voice input, gesture controls, and tactile input.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

adjusting volume controls of the vehicle in response to the data.

10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the vehicle systems include at least two or more of navigation, climate control, entertainment, audio, communications, performance controls, passenger comfort, and driver assistance.

11 . A wireless earpiece, comprising:

a housing for fitting in an ear of a user;

a processor controlling functionality of the wireless earpiece;

a plurality of sensors performing sensor measurements of the user and an environment of the user;

one or more transceivers managing communications between the wireless earpiece and a smart windshield;

wherein the processor associates the one or more wireless earpieces with the smart windshield, receives data from a user wearing the one or more wireless earpieces, and communicates the data from the one or more wireless earpieces to the smart windshield of the vehicle.

12 . The wireless earpiece of claim 11 , wherein the processor further verifies the user is authorized to utilize the smart windshield before communicating the data.

13 . The wireless earpiece of claim 11 , wherein the one or more transceivers communicate with vehicle systems coupled to the smart windshield to perform the communications.

14 . The wireless earpiece of claim 11 , wherein the data includes biometrics determined from the sensor measurements.

15 . The wireless earpiece of claim 11 , wherein the processor further controls vehicle systems associated with the smart windshield utilizing user input in the data.

16 . The wireless earpiece of claim 15 , wherein the user input includes one or more of voice input, gesture controls, and tactile input.

17 . A smart windshield system, comprising:

a smart windshield operably capable of displaying data to a user;

an Internet of Things (IoT) network operably coupled to the smart windshield and a constrained intelligent edge real time embedded device (CIERTED); and

a wireless earpiece operably coupled to the IoT and the smart windshield, wherein the wireless earpiece can control the CIERTED and the data displayed on the smart windshield.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the wireless earpiece, comprises:

a processor;

a memory operably coupled to the processor, wherein the memory associates the wireless earpiece with the smart windshield, receive data from the user wearing the wireless earpiece, and communicate the data from the wireless earpiece to the smart windshield of the vehicle.

19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the wireless earpiece controls vehicle systems associated with the smart windshield utilizing user input.

20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the user input includes one or more of voice input, gesture controls, and tactile input.
