Apparatus and method for facilitating gaming activity and/or gambling activity
An apparatus, including a computer including a processor which detects a posting of information regarding a gaming activity, gambling activity, or sporting event, and generates the notification message. The computer initiates a communication link with a first device and transmits the notification message to the first device. The computer receives a bet message transmitted from the first device or from a second device. The first device or second communication device includes a global positioning device and a display. The bet message contains information regarding a bet to be placed and information regarding the position or location of the first device or second device at a time of a transmission of the bet message. The computer determines if the bet is allowed or disallowed using position or location information of the first device or the second device.
1. An apparatus, comprising:
a computer, wherein the computer is specially programmed for processing information for providing for a placement of a bet on or regarding a gaming activity, a gambling activity, or a sporting event, wherein the computer further comprises:
a receiver, wherein the receiver receives a request to notify an individual regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, for or on which the bet can be placed;
a memory, wherein the memory stores information regarding the request to notify the individual regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event; and
a processor, wherein the processor is specially programmed to detect a posting of information regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and to generate a notification message regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, wherein the processor detects the posting of the information regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and further wherein the processor generates the notification message regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event;
wherein the computer, in response to a generating of the notification message by the processor, initiates a communication link with a first communication device, wherein the first communication device is associated with the individual, and further wherein the computer transmits the notification message to the first communication device,
wherein the computer receives a bet message transmitted from the first communication device or from a second communication device, wherein the second communication device is associated with the individual, and further wherein the first communication device or the second communication device comprises a global positioning device, wherein the global positioning device determines a position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device,
wherein the bet message contains information regarding a bet to be placed on or regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and information regarding the position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device at a time of a transmission of the bet message from the first communication device, or from the second communication device, to the computer,
wherein the computer determines if the bet is allowed or disallowed using the information regarding the position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device and, if the bet is allowed, the computer processes information for placing the bet for or on behalf of the individual, or, if the bet is disallowed, the computer processes information for disallowing the bet.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, is a table game, a gaming machine game, or a slot machine game.
3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, is a lottery game.
4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, is a sporting event.

The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the computer processes information for determining whether the bet is a winning bet or a losing bet, and further wherein the computer processes information for making or effectuating a payment to a gaming account, a gambling account, or a sports betting account, of or associated with the individual if the bet is a winning bet, or the computer processes information for deducting funds from a gaming account, a gambling account, or a sports betting account, of or associated with the individual if the bet is a losing bet.

The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the computer processes information for determining a state, a political subdivision, or a country, in which the first communication device or the second communication device was located at the time of the transmission of the bet message from the first communication device, or from the second communication device, to the computer, and further wherein the computer processes information for making or effectuating a payment to the state, the political subdivision, or the country.

The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the computer transmits information regarding a change in betting odds associated with the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device, or the computer transmits information regarding a change in betting odds associated with a second gaming activity, a second gambling activity, or a second sporting event, to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.

The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the computer detects a use of a gaming account, a gambling account, or a sports betting account, of or associated with the individual, and further wherein the computer generates a gaming account use message, a gambling account use message, or a sports betting account use message, and further wherein the computer transmits the gaming account use message, the gambling account use message, or the sports betting account use message, to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.
9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus or the computer processes information regarding a placement of a private bet between the individual and a second individual.
10. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus or the computer processes information for placing a second bet for or on behalf of the individual.
11. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus or the computer transmits video information or audio information of or regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.
12. An apparatus, comprising:
a computer, wherein the computer is specially programmed for processing information for providing for a placement of a bet on or regarding a gaming activity, a gambling activity, or a sporting event, wherein the computer further comprises:
a receiver, wherein the receiver receives a request to notify an individual regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, for or on which the bet can be placed;
a memory, wherein the memory stores information regarding the request to notify the individual regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event; and
a processor, wherein the processor is specially programmed to detect a posting of information regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and to generate a notification message regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, wherein the processor detects the posting of the information regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and further wherein the processor generates the notification message regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event;
wherein the computer, in response to a generating of the notification message by the processor, initiates a communication link with a first communication device, wherein the first communication device is associated with the individual, and further wherein the computer transmits the notification message to the first communication device,
wherein the computer receives a bet message transmitted from the first communication device or from a second communication device, wherein the second communication device is associated with the individual, and further wherein the first communication device or the second communication device comprises a global positioning device, wherein the global positioning device determines a position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device; and a display, wherein the display is capable of displaying information regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and further wherein the display is capable of displaying the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event,
wherein the bet message contains information regarding a bet to be placed on or regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, and information regarding the position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device at a time of a transmission of the bet message from the first communication device, or from the second communication device, to the computer,
wherein the computer determines if the bet is allowed or disallowed using the information regarding the position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device and using information regarding a gaming law, a gaming rule, or a gaming regulation, of a jurisdiction, and, if the bet is allowed, the computer processes information for placing the bet for or on behalf of the individual, or, if the bet is disallowed, the computer processes information for disallowing the bet,
and further wherein the apparatus or the computer transmits video information or audio information of or regarding the gaming activity, the gambling activity, or the sporting event, to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.
13. An apparatus, comprising:
a computer, wherein the computer is specially programmed for processing information for providing for a placement of a bet on or regarding a sporting event, wherein the computer further comprises:
a receiver, wherein the receiver receives a request to notify an individual regarding the sporting event for or on which the bet can be placed;
a memory, wherein the memory stores information regarding the request to notify the individual regarding the sporting event; and
a processor, wherein the processor is specially programmed to detect a posting of information regarding the sporting event and to generate a notification message regarding the sporting event, wherein the processor detects the posting of the information regarding the sporting event, and further wherein the processor generates the notification message regarding the sporting event;
wherein the computer, in response to a generating of the notification message by the processor, initiates a communication link with a first communication device, wherein the first communication device is associated with the individual, and further wherein the computer transmits the notification message to the first communication device,
wherein the computer receives a bet message transmitted from the first communication device or from a second communication device, wherein the second communication device is associated with the individual, and further wherein the first communication device or the second communication device comprises a global positioning device, wherein the global positioning device determines a position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device,
wherein the bet message contains information regarding a bet to be placed on or regarding the sporting event and information regarding the position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device at a time of a transmission of the bet message from the first communication device, or from the second communication device, to the computer,
wherein the computer determines if the bet is allowed or disallowed using the information regarding the position or location of the first communication device or the second communication device and, if the bet is allowed, the computer processes information for placing the bet for or on behalf of the individual, or, if the bet is disallowed, the computer processes information for disallowing the bet.
14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the computer determines if the bet is allowed or disallowed using information regarding a gaming law, a gaming rule, or a gaming regulation, of a jurisdiction.

The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the computer processes information for determining if the bet is a winning bet or a losing bet, and further wherein the computer processes information for making or effectuating a payment to a sports betting account of or associated with the individual if the bet is a winning bet, or the computer processes information for deducting funds from a sports betting account of or associated with the individual if the bet is a losing bet.

The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the computer processes information for determining a state, a political subdivision, or a country, in which the first communication device or the second communication device was located at the time of the transmission of the bet message from the first communication device, or from the second communication device, to the computer, and further wherein the computer processes information for making or effectuating a payment to the state, the political subdivision, or the country.
17. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the computer transmits information regarding a change in betting odds associated with the sporting event to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.

The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the computer automatically detects a use of a sports betting account of or associated with the individual, and further wherein the computer generates a sports betting account use message, and further wherein the computer transmits the sports betting account use message to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.
19. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the computer processes information regarding a placement of a private bet between the individual and a second individual, or the computer processes information for placing a second bet for or on behalf of the individual.
20. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the apparatus or the computer transmits video information or audio information of or regarding the sporting event to the first communication device, to the second communication device, or to a third communication device.
