Interface For Displaying Supplemental Dynamic Timeline Content
An interface for displaying supplemental dynamic timeline content, such as in connection with the output of content is described. Upon reception of a selection of a selectable element associated with a supplemental content item in the content, an updated supplemental timeline indicating one or more time periods at which the supplemental content item is output in the primary content is output.
1 . A method comprising:
causing output of:
a supplemental timeline associated with output of primary content, and
one or more selectable elements associated with one or more supplemental content items in the primary content;
receiving a selection of a selectable element of the one or more selectable elements, wherein the selectable element is associated with a supplemental content item in the primary content; and
causing output, based on the selection of the selectable element, of an updated supplemental timeline indicating one or more time periods at which the supplemental content item is output in the primary content.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more supplemental content items in the primary content are associated with metadata in the primary content.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable element comprises at least one of a graphical representation of the supplemental content item in the primary content or a description of the supplemental content item in the primary content.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the updated supplemental timeline indicates a plurality of time periods at which the supplemental content item is in the primary content.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising causing output of a primary timeline associated with the output of the primary content, wherein the primary timeline comprises one or more markers associated with a scene or a frame of the primary content.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein:
causing output of the primary timeline comprises causing output of the primary timeline to a first output device; and
causing output of the supplemental timeline comprises causing output of the supplemental timeline to a second output device.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
causing output of one or more timeline elements; and
causing output, based on the selection of the selectable element, of updated one or more timeline elements comprising a timeline element associated with the supplemental content item.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the timeline element of the updated one or more timeline elements comprises a graphical representation of the supplemental content item.
9 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising replacing a prior timeline element with the timeline element associated with the supplemental content item to generate the updated one or more timeline elements.
10 . A computing device, comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
cause output of:
a supplemental timeline associated with output of primary content, and
one or more selectable elements associated with one or more supplemental content items in the primary content;
receive a selection of a selectable element of the one or more selectable elements, wherein the selectable element is associated with a supplemental content item in the primary content; and
cause output, based on the selection of the selectable element, of an updated supplemental timeline indicating one or more time periods at which the supplemental content item is output in the primary content.
11 . The computing device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more supplemental content items in the primary content are associated with metadata in the primary content.
12 . The computing device of claim 10 , wherein the selectable element comprises at least one of a graphical representation of the supplemental content item in the primary content or a description of the supplemental content item in the primary content.
13 . The computing device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to cause output of a primary timeline associated with the output of the primary content, wherein the primary timeline comprises one or more markers associated with a scene or a frame of the primary content.
14 . The computing device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
cause output of the primary timeline by causing output of the primary timeline to a first output device; and
cause output of the supplemental timeline by causing output of the supplemental timeline to a second output device.
15 . The computing device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to:
cause output of one or more timeline elements; and
cause output, based on the selection of the selectable element, of updated one or more timeline elements comprising a timeline element associated with the supplemental content item.
16 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
cause output of:
a supplemental timeline associated with output of primary content, and
one or more selectable elements associated with one or more supplemental content items in the primary content;
receive a selection of a selectable element of the one or more selectable elements, wherein the selectable element is associated with a supplemental content item in the primary content; and
cause output, based on the selection of the selectable element, of an updated supplemental timeline indicating one or more time periods at which the supplemental content item is output in the primary content.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the one or more supplemental content items in the primary content are associated with metadata in the primary content.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the selectable element comprises at least one of a graphical representation of the supplemental content item in the primary content or a description of the supplemental content item in the primary content.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the one or more processors to cause output of a primary timeline associated with the output of the primary content, wherein the primary timeline comprises one or more markers associated with a scene or a frame of the primary content.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the one or more processors to:
cause output of one or more timeline elements; and
cause output, based on the selection of the selectable element, of updated one or more timeline elements comprising a timeline element associated with the supplemental content item.
