Sterile field interactive control displays
An interactive control unit is disclosed. The interactive control unit includes an interactive touchscreen display, an interface configured to couple the control unit to a surgical hub, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive input commands from the interactive touchscreen display located inside a sterile field and transmit the input commands to the surgical hub to control devices coupled to the surgical hub located outside the sterile field.
1. An interactive control unit for use within an operating room comprising a sterile field and a non-sterile field, the interactive control unit comprising:
an interactive touchscreen display located inside the sterile field of the operating room;
an interface configured to couple the interactive control unit to a first surgical hub;
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to:
receive a control input command from the interactive touchscreen display;
transmit the control input command to the first surgical hub, wherein the control input command causes the first surgical hub to control devices coupled to the first surgical hub located inside the non-sterile field of the operating room;
based on a user change, re-configure wireless activation devices within the sterile field and an energy device paired thereto;
receive a consult request for a consultation and information from a second surgical hub;
temporarily store the information responsive to receiving the consult request and the information;
configure a portion of the interactive touchscreen display to display the information received from the second surgical hub after receiving the consult request, wherein the information comprises visual data representing at least a portion of a surgical field associated with the second surgical hub; and
erase the information responsive to a determination that the consultation is complete.
2. The interactive control unit of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to receive an image array from a scanning device and display the image array on the interactive touchscreen display.
3. The interactive control unit of claim 2 , wherein the processor is configured to display on the interactive touchscreen display an image of a virtual anatomy based on the received image array.
4. The interactive control unit of claim 2 , wherein the processor is configured to receive an image array from a laser Doppler scanning device.
5. The interactive control unit of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to re-configure wireless devices coupled to the first surgical hub from control inputs received via the interactive touchscreen display.
6. The interactive control unit of claim 1 , wherein the interactive touchscreen display comprises multiple input and output zones.
7. The interactive control unit of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to:
receive a second control input command from the interactive touchscreen display; and
transmit the second control input command to the second surgical hub, wherein the second control input command causes the second surgical hub to control devices coupled to the second surgical hub.
8. An interactive control unit for use within an operating room comprising a sterile field and a non-sterile field, the interactive control unit comprising:
an interactive touchscreen display located inside the sterile field of the operating room;
an interface configured to couple the interactive control unit to a first surgical hub;
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to:
receive a control input command from the interactive touchscreen display;
transmit the control input command to the first surgical hub, wherein the control input command causes the first surgical hub to control devices located in the non-sterile field;
receive a consult request for a consultation and information from a second surgical hub;
temporarily store the information responsive to receiving the consult request and the information;
configure a portion of the interactive touchscreen display to display the information received from the second surgical hub after receiving the consult request, wherein the information comprises visual data representing at least a portion of a surgical field associated with the second surgical hub; and
erase the information responsive to a determination that the consultation is complete.
9. The interactive control unit of claim 8 , wherein the processor is configured to back up the information in time.
10. The interactive control unit of claim 8 , wherein the processor is configured to return control to the interactive touchscreen display in the first surgical hub.
11. An interactive control unit for use within an operating room comprising a sterile field and a non-sterile field, the interactive control unit comprising:
an interactive touchscreen display located inside the sterile field of the operating room;
an interface configured to couple the interactive control unit to a first surgical hub; and
a control circuit to:
receive a control input command from the interactive touchscreen display;
transmit the control input command to the first surgical hub, wherein the control input command causes the first surgical hub to control devices coupled to the first surgical hub, wherein the devices are located inside the non-sterile field of the operating room;
based on a user change, re-configure wireless activation devices within the sterile field and an energy device paired thereto;
receive a consult request for a consultation and information from a second surgical hub;
temporarily store the information responsive to receiving the consult request and the information;
configure a portion of the interactive touchscreen display to display the information received from the second surgical hub after receiving the consult request, wherein the information comprises visual data representing at least a portion of a surgical field associated with the second surgical hub; and
erase the information responsive to a determination that the consultation is complete.
12. The interactive control unit of claim 11 , wherein the control circuit is configured to receive an image array from a scanning device and display the image array on the interactive touchscreen display.
13. The interactive control unit of claim 12 , wherein the control circuit is configured to display on the interactive touchscreen display an image of a virtual anatomy based on the received image array.
14. The interactive control unit of claim 12 , wherein the control circuit is configured to receive an image array from a laser Doppler scanning device.
15. The interactive control unit of claim 11 , wherein the control circuit is configured to re-configure wireless devices coupled to the first surgical hub from control inputs received via the interactive touchscreen display.
16. The interactive control unit of claim 11 , wherein the interactive touchscreen display comprises multiple input and output zones.
