Floor panel
Floor panel, with a horizontally and vertically active locking system allowing that two of such floor panels can be connected to each other at said sides by providing one of these floor panels, by means of a downward movement, in the other floor panel; wherein the vertically active locking system comprises a locking element in the form of an insert; wherein this locking element comprises at least a pivotable lock-up body; characterized in that the pivotable lock-up body comprises a support portion which is rotatable against a support surface pertaining to the floor panel concerned, and more particularly in a seat.
1. A floor panel, comprising a core and a top layer of wood functioning as a visible decorative layer, the core comprising a first material and a different second material,
wherein the floor panel is rectangular and oblong and thus comprises a pair of opposite long sides and a pair of opposite short sides;
wherein the floor panel comprises, at the pair of opposite long sides, coupling parts, which, in a coupled condition, offer a horizontal as well as a vertical locking and which allow a mutual coupling by means of a pivoting movement between two floor panels to be coupled;
wherein the floor panel comprises, at the pair of opposite short sides, coupling parts;
wherein the coupling parts at the opposite short sides form a horizontally active locking system and a vertically active locking system;
wherein the horizontally active locking system comprises a male part and a female part, which allow that two of such floor panels can be connected to each other at the aforementioned short sides by providing one of these floor panels with the pertaining male part, by means of a downward movement obtained as a result of the aforementioned pivoting movement, in the female part of the other floor panel;
wherein the male part is formed by a downward-directed extremity of a hook-shaped part, whereas the female part comprises a seat formed by an upward-directed hook-shaped part;
wherein the vertically active locking system comprises a locking element provided in the form of an insert in one of the short sides;
wherein the core comprises, at least at one of the short sides, a strip made of the first material;
wherein at least the male or female part is machined from the first material of the strip;
wherein the insert extends a greater width at a locking portion compared to a support portion; and
wherein the locking portion extends generally vertically from the support portion, the support portion extending downwardly into and tangent to a seat defined by a surface of the hook-shaped part, the locking portion in the coupled condition contacting and extending tangent to the female part;
wherein the insert comprises a press-on portion extending inclinedly away from the locking portion and the support portion into the male part.
