Abstract

A method of operating a gaming system including: receiving by the gaming system from a player an input of real world credit; providing by the gaming system a display screen that depicts a representation of an entertainment game in which score values directly correlate to a standardized score; determining by the gaming system a game world score for a period of time; determining by the gaming system a standardized score value using the game world score; displaying by the gaming system the standardized score value; determining by the gaming system a gambling outcome, wherein the determination of the gambling outcome is triggered by trigger in the entertainment game; and allocating by the gaming system the randomly generated payout of real world credits to the credit meter.

Claims (17)

1 . A method of operating a gaming system having a random number generator and a credit meter, comprising:

receiving by the gaming system from a player an input of real world credit;

providing by the gaming system a display screen configured to display a player interface that depicts a representation of an entertainment game in which score values directly correlate to a standardized score;

receiving by the gaming system a player's action within the entertainment game;

determining by the gaming system a game world score for a period of time;

determining by the gaming system a standardized score value using the game world score;

displaying by the gaming system the standardized score value;

determining by the gaming system a gambling outcome of a randomly generated payout of real world credits from a wager of the real world credit using the random number generator, wherein the determination of the gambling outcome is triggered by trigger in the entertainment game; and

allocating by the gaming system the randomly generated payout of real world credits to the credit meter.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining by the gaming system the standardized score by applying linear mapping.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining by the gaming system the standardized score by applying nonlinear mapping.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining by the gaming system the standardized score by using a weighting application based upon a distribution of players.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining by the gaming system the standardized score by using a formulaic conversion based upon at least one entertainment game metric.
